Goodison Park - New Building Development Plans

Recommended Posts

His sentiments were echoed by Chief Executive Robert Elstone: "This new scheme is totally self-funded by partners so there is no net cost to the Club. In fact, it is cash-positive from the start.

"Even if a new stadium scheme came to light very quickly it would take a number of years to realise. Our discussions with Liverpool City Council have genuinely been more positive but the crux of the matter is we need substantial enabling support and the council see that as being difficult and hard to deliver.

This bit is interesting:

Information now on Liverpool.gov.uk

Sadly no plans

To erect a four-storey building comprising ground floor retail/merchandising/ticketing, first floor cafe/conferencing facilities/football museum, second floor offices, third floor hospitality facilities, together with associated external works, on land at the corner of Walton Lane/Spellow Lane

It's been recommended for approval.

The Head of Planning considers that proposed four storey building to accommodate ground floor club shop, with upper floors used for club hospitality, club offices, café conferencing and football museum, given its location, at the Park End of Goodson Stadium, and the existence of similar facilities within the site and in close proximity, that the scheme would not have an unduly unacceptable impact on the visual amenity of the site and surrounding area, would not have a significantly detrimental impact on the residential amenity of neighbouring properties; and would not be unduly detrimental to highway operation/safety.

Your link doesn't work Mike.

Nevermind - fixed it :)

I always thought they were building it over the season end anyway because it would be easier to whilst there was no football ongoing. Seems strange that it was considered to be done during the season.

Having said that there are rumours that a building firm pulled out, not too sure of the reasons.
