MikeO
He was a blue really though! "I have been received more warmly by Everton than I have by Liverpool. It is scandalous that I should have to write these things about the club that I helped build into what it is today." That's why we'll always be the People's Club! Looked that up earlier and found this one that I'd not heard before... "A football team is like a piano. You need eight men to carry it and three who can play the damn thing." Like that. marcopaulo
as far as i can tell shankly was a man of pure class...any other club and most blues would've loved him..he'd be ashamed by the actions of most of today's players stuart1971
Dalziel Kane
How did William Shankly get into this? In any event, However I feel personally about Liverpool FC, Shankly was a giant amongst men, taken prematurely from us in the Autumn of 1981, and I've read countless tales of him and the sides of the 1960s and 70s. He was a damn fine manager, if not for him Liverpool may never have been the force they were to become, think he took over when they were still second division in the early 1960s or late 50s Stepped down after the 1974 FA cup success over Newcastle United if I remember. He was immense. stuart1971
