Gylfi Sigurdsson on his move to Everton: "It is a big club, with big history. I am looking forward to not having to play against them.

"I am very happy to be here. It is a club on the rise and I want to be a part of that.

"Maybe I am not ready to play 90 minutes, maybe 45 minutes but I have been training really well. I need more minutes under my belt."

agreed Im into natural beauties as well. The makeup is being caked on these days.

Quite right, can't stand loads of make-up. Worked with a woman once who looked like she'd visited a plasterer before work every morning, yuk.

I must've mentally switched off by that point because apart from the goal I don't remember him doing anything.

He just seemed to get on the ball a bit more, and got in behind when he probably should have done better with the final ball. He didnt stand out in the second half but he was pretty poor in the first so it didnt take much for him to improve!

agreed. The goal bouyed him for about 25-30mins and he was playing well. Shit first half though.

If anyone playing for the press's darlings had have scored that it'd would be on 24 hour repeat on sky sports. What was so good about it was the control he had whilst stretching

True..they'd be bumming it if mane had scored ìt or summat..

Don't think sky have the rights to show it unfortunately but I get what you're saying.

Woke up and checked the internet.

That REALLY happened!

Was really funny here; my lad was still grouching about how we were going to get beat and had his head in Twatter on his phone indulging in half time doom and gloom when I jumped on him . He was totally bewildered for ten seconds or so, face (and reaction) was classic when he saw the replay.

His instincts are top notch, but he definitely needs to get back up to speed in order to act on them.

Like Romey said, he hasn't had a pre-season, so I'd expect to see him contributing a lot more in about 4-5 games.

Yeah. Koeman's tactics aside, we should remember that we're without the two primary focal points of our attacking play from the past few years. It's going to take time for everyone to gel.

anyone think we paid too much now? FFS Ox went for 40m.

Thor scored more last season than in the Ox's 6 with Arsenal.

Good player but we have enough good midfielders who lack goal scoring threat.

He isn't playing well and not sure what his position is?

I guess he's meant to be a number 10.

But he's not got great feet, hes not that good at playing defence splitting passes, he hasnt got any flair and hes slow. This is why i was unsure as to why we even bothered buying him. I'd have liked Lanzini personally. I suppose he's got a good cross on him but that becomes useless without a beast up front.

To me, we've spent full whack on a dead ball speacialist. Waste of money.

Would be much less of a waste if we had someone to deliver balls to

Agree with Aidan, at £45m plus I don't think Siggy has improved us on what we already had, in fact he could become our worst transfer for a long time.

It's possible, but he could also be the new Sheedy when he beds in, time will tell.

I thought he played well today without showing that final bit of quality (that we bought him for). I thought he made some good runs, he was getting into the box and he could have scored. Give him half a dozen more games and we will see a lot more from him.

Later in the game he dropped deeper but he isn't a CM.

Done absolutely jack shit at Spurs. Sold back to a lesser team and threw a few good deliveries into Gomis and Llorente. £45m player? Even in the current climate? Never! a complete balls up of a transfer and whoever sanctioned it needs to be sacked. It was too expensive from the beginning. Surely there was better available at that kind of money.

People are forgetting about the summer Gylfi had, for those that are in the forgetful camp he didn't get one. He was exiled from the Swansea squad for most (if not all) of their pre-season games and was then thrown into the mix as soon as he signed for us against Manchester City. I know that he's not tore the league apart but then again who would in an Everton side that has had it's confidence shot to pieces after massive defeats against Chelsea, Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester United?

Just like Koeman, the lad needs time. He's not had a pre-season and has had to adapt to a new team and a new way of playing against the league's best sides in a time of turmoil. If he's still anonymous come January then by all means get on the lad's back but to do it just a month after he's signed it absolutely ridiculous.

You could say the same about Paulhino though and look where he is now. Scoring winning goals for FC Barcelona in La Liga alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

This, he needs time to get used to a new team, and have a sustained run in the side.

I thought Gylfi looked like he was starting to find his feet in the side on Sunday. It didn't quite happen for him but having not been particularly impressed before I actually thought he could do the job we are crying out for (Barkleys).
