Ross Barkley

Not really surprised.

His form hasn't been the greatest and the second I read the Lukakuesc interview,o thought the England hierarchy aren't going to like that.

I know he is young and naive and was baited into it, but it's still speaking out against am England manager.

Remember Lukaku doing it against his national manager...albeit one who was still in charge.

Might be thier way of giving him a sharp kick up the arse.

Will be interesting to see his mental toughness now, will he sink or swimm.

To be fair Shukes it's the first time Ross has interviewed like that and in all fairness he had a fuckin good point. Only he and stones were the only outfield players not to get match time, the games were crying out for a creative player.

It was almost as if hodgson wanted to humiliate him.

I don't think he's out of order at all, the England set up is a joke.

The lukaku interview was him telling wilmotts who to play up front with him...

I think starting Wilshere ahead of him confirmed that...

ALLARDYCE ON BARKLEY OMISSION

“It’s been a well thought-out squad. We’ve had to make some very difficult decisions, none more so than Ross Barkley. For him its disappointing but the door is always open and I have to make these decisions. I feel the squad I‘ve picked is the right one at this moment.

Clear as mud. He obviously just doesn't rate him.

Not saying I don't agree mate.

But he spoke out against the untouchables.

The FA have always been the same, that's why we fall behind the rest of the world's national teams.

FA is all about politics and not sport, speaking out to then is a national offence.

Difficult decisions??? Daft decisions more like.

The top European sides laugh at us. Over the years we have seen absolute yard dogs get picked ahead of talents like le tissier, hoddle, bowles, Worthington.

The biggest one was scholes retiring because he couldn't get in midfield due to the repeatedly failed Gerrard and Lampard partnership.

Ross will go the same way. His only chance is if he goes to a club like United, Chelsea etc. So England can piss off.

I agree. The fans need to boycott games. It's the only way those pricks will get the message.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at their meetings.

That is why I can't get my head round people being happy about this. If it continually happens then he's going to think he should leave. I'm sure the Euro's played a role in Stones going this summer.

That squad is woeful. Ross is better away from it. Another graham Taylor era picking donkeys! Fucking Wiltshire and Walcott? The lad is far from perfect but he gives you something that nobody else does in the squad. Maybe he thinks Ross can't okay in his 4-4-2 formation

Wilshere isn't in the squad.

No doubt about it. I think there is some sort of image/commercial bollocks that massively impacts the income for the FA. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the old boys influence such decisions.

For me I'm on the fence but my thinking that it's good is to protect him. It must be horrible for him but at least he will escape the media vultures who love to pin something on a younger footballer...

Koeman needs an arm around him now.

Henderson, Alli and Walcott, says enough for me.

This. See how good a man-manager Koeman is. We all know Ross can be fragile mentally, Koeman needs to get into his head now and help him use this to become the player we all hope he'll become.

I think he has been punished for speaking out. Deffo the old boys in the FA flexing their hormone replacement therapy muscle.... the viagra dependant pricks.

I'd totally understand if he'd blasted Hodgson and said he was rubbish, but all he says was that he was disappointed (might've been devastated) at not playing and that he felt Hodgson should've trusted him more. I thought it was a mature way of handling it tbh, quite respectful.

Some shocking picks in that squad.

But, on this occasion, I'm happy Barkley has been left at Finch Farm. Simply because I think Koeman will do a great job of getting into his head and motivating the shit out if him. Everton will benefit from his omission...this time anyway!

Use it in the right way Ross.

I'm with you newts the English team is a shit show and him not being around it is a good thing. He needs to concentrate on Everton and becoming the player he should be.

This for me. His form in the first two games was perfect. Probably had some nerves playing in front of Big Sam this last game that led to some poor decision making but still playing better than half the names in that squad. Really do just hope it doesn't fuck up his psyche.

Anyone who thinks English national football has anything to do with picking the best players needs their head seeing to. It's all about selling merchandise and trading on the brand name teams. Players from other teams only ever make it if they play so incredibly well the FA has little option. As long as the FA remains the way it is, England will continue to lose to teams like Iceland. Barkley (and our other players) should just stay away from the disaster known as the England team.
