GoldfishMemory
I'v just watched his post match interview in a crowded suite at Goodison, the lad is full of confidence, plays well and is getting praise of everybody. Bright future for him and us methinks!
BarnsleyFan
I wasn't trying to knock Everton at all but I think he could be truly a top player and maybe follow your former manager to Manchester united or even join a Chelsea or Arsenal Tottnham or even your great rivals Liverpool. Ha ha, need to be more subtle to be a wum on this site. Add up the titles won by Chelsea, spurs, man city together, see if the exceed the number achieved by Everton. I'll be honest I confuse Barnsley and Burnley, what's the difference? Not being thick or anything, it's just never intrigued me enough to find out. thoward18
He's been totally irrelevant, and I mean that in the best way possible. The CB role basically consists of, "don't fuck up." Anything else is a bonus. It's a very difficult position and especially for a teenager, but he hasn't fucked up. Thankful for Moyes giving us one more stupidly cheap buy. Louis
He's been named in the England U21 squad for a game against Wales in Derby. http://www.thefa.com/news/england/under-21/2014/feb/squad-named-for-wales-at-derby-270214 It'll be televised on BT Sport 1 on Wednesday. pete0
Hoping Stones keeps his place ahead of Jags. Very comfortable on the ball, suits RM's style of play better. Matt
MC11
No haven't been overly impressed with Jagielka of late but I think it's seriously early doors for Stones to be taking his place. Against a more ready attacking opposition I think Stones inexperience will be highlighted Quinn31 and Matt
duncanmckenzieismagic
Jags all day long, Stones is one for the future and I'm happy enough for him to step in as cover when needed but at the moment he is nowhere near the level of Jagielka Blue 250, Matt and Quinn31
MC11
Anybody ever seen a ball carrying centre back I.e someone who picks up the ball at the back and makes driving runs through the centre of the park? The only time I've seen this was when I used to play as a teenager. There was a centre back who would pick the ball up at the back and make driving runs through the midfield. It was often very dangerous to the opposing team. That centre back went on to be picked up by Tranmere Rovers, he never made it pro but it was a fantastic attribute that isn't seen often. Obviously it can leave you open at the back but generally a midfield player would drop in to cover him. I get a massive feeling that Stones may have this in his locker. Could be completely wrong mind. Edited March 3, 2014 by MiguelCotto
duncanmckenzieismagic
He may well do but I would feel a lot more confident with Jagielka starting at Arsenal this weekend Matt
MC11
Lol I was merely quoting you. Does the same rationale not apply this season? How is it that finishing 6th last year was not an achievement as it was no more than you would expect with our squad and yet the squad has improved and suddenly 7th is an achievement ? Yeh I don't think he's too far off but Jags is a must. Stones looks so slight in his build bit doesn't seem to affect him.
Quinn31
Jags all day long, Stones is one for the future and I'm happy enough for him to step in as cover when needed but at the moment he is nowhere near the level of Jagielka This. Jagielka hasn't been bad. He's our captain and a great defender. No reason to drop him for Stones.

Romey 1878
If he doesn't become an England regular then either the England manager's during his career are idiots or something has gone drastically wrong for him. GoodisonRoad

Bailey
I was more impressed with Stones yesterday than I ever have been. He was brilliant and he played his part with the ball at his feet too. I would be a little disappointed if Jags walked back in the team based on that performance. pete0, Romey 1878, Toffee_in_LA and 1 other
