I’m happy we have a sponsor that can now be put on the kids shirts, I don’t know if anyone else had the same reaction, but my grandchildren who were Everton supporters, didn’t like the fact that there shirts were different from mine and the players.
So it should please them that they will look the same as their heroes, and that is important for youngsters to feel the same as the rest of us.

Absolutely, but I’d rather they kept their hope for a bit longer.

i do hope it’s only the name and not their slogan as well though. It sounds a bit naff as a name but I’d love to see Everton branded kazoos now too making a racket at kickoff etc  :D

Kazoos please no I can’t stand them!!!!!!!

Had to google them, don't like the fact that you don't get more than a thumbnail of the car you're interested before you have to enter your name, address, mobile and email. @StevO is probably the man to ask about them.

Other than that, as said above, at least it's not gambling.

They are what we call a disruptor. Companies like this make companies like mine (car dealership group) compete with each other to get a better deal for the customer (and a healthy commission for themselves rather than the salesperson).

In the motor trade companies like this have become like diving in football. You have to do it because the other team are. They get better deals for the customer, but make it harder for salespeople to earn a good living (they don’t make half as much as some would want you to think, and I’m not a sales person, in fact they do my head in most days).

This seems like a very good sponsorship, decent money and an honest company.

I see people talk about them not being a big enough brand. We have Angry Birds and people complained. Even though they have a ridiculous reach (their games are played around the world for the equivalent of 16 years for every our of the day, and their games have been downloaded almost a billion times. Does it get much bigger?)

On Cazoo, I just hope we don’t have the little strap line under the logo on the shirts. I could see that peeling off.

Apparently £10m a year

27m over three years, apparently. So less than SportPesa? No idea if that's actually the case but in the current climate I don't neccesarily see it as a backward step if it is. Sponsorship is going to be a completely different entity than what we're used to for a while.

Anyone worried about our run in? Without the GP crowd behind us I think we will have a tough set of fixtures. Norwich, villa and Bournemouth will be fighting for their lives (Bournemouth may be down by then). Then Liverpool, Leicester, Spurs and Wolves won’t give us much change. Add Sheffield Utd in who will have a chance of Europe and it makes for hard finish to the season. With only 2 CBs fit and Keane out of form (well was) I feel fairly pessimistic today.

Now I’ve brought the mood down it’s great to see that we’re still the best club to support in the world and EITC is getting the recognition it deserves.

I wouldn’t worry, as soon as the shite are mathematically champions a load of positive coronavirus results will be announced and the season will be curtailed ;).

A bit sickening looking at the table. If only we'd got a result against Chelsea.

10 points of Europe, 10 off danger. I think with Carlo we’ll get closer to the top

And didn’t throw 2 points away at home to Newcastle, or got done by VAR at home to Man U and at Brighton!

sorry if the link doesn’t work it may need a subscription, hopefully someone who subscribes can post it.

Completely agree mate.

She seems to be the most competent person running the club for a long time. She is worlds apart from Elstone.

Yeah, it’s not a job to her, it’s a vocation.

Better hope that Baines does sign that 12 month extension, or a LB will become a priority this summer

he signed the short term extension to finish this campaign.  it's free money on the table for a guy at the end of his career, barring family issues i think he will sign.  i hope he will sign.  please please leighton sign it!  we need you!

He is obviously having doubts otherwise why sign the short term deal when there is already a longer term deal on the table?

Kenny can play both, no?

Thought he was predominantly RB? Only ever seen him there. But that’s not the point, we need someone competent at LB to step in for and challenge Digne and there’s no one if Baines leaves.

edit: a general warning to everyone; don’t even think about saying Delph

That would imply that he could actually stay fit for more than a day every six months!

Just me that doesn't understand what the fuss is about? He's played what, four games this season yet is if he doesn't sign this suddenly becomes a massive problem? Lucas Digne is the undisputed left-back at Everton, if Leighton was to leave then all we would need to do would be to purchase/loan someone to fill the void in case Lucas was injured.

Don't get me wrong, Baines is one of my favourites and it'd be sad to see him go but I can't understand the mass panic that this has caused. If he stays, brilliant. If he leaves then we look at cheap options to fill in the "bench warming, come on in the 94th minute if needed position".

Personally, I think it comes down to what Leighton wants to do at this stage of his life. If I remember rightly he said that he wasn't that into football, it's just that he's really good at it and made it into a career. His passion is in music and he's best mates with Miles Kane, he could quite literally turn down the contract so that he can play on his guitar more.

It’s just because people feel we won’t be making a lot of signings, and when we do... they need to be in other areas first as priority.

Having Baines as back up for another year gives us time to strengthen that position and focus on other areas where we really lack, like centre mid.

100% this . Sentiment  aside , Baines has proved he can still step in and produce top class performances and is without doubt the best back up LB in the Premier League but if FFP is limiting how quickly we can rebuild losing him just slows the process further

If we want to progress we need real competition for every position , not just someone who could Plug a gap, and for me Baines still provides that

Im surprised they got the same amount as us.

Likewise, particularly given the very real relegation risk; though actually if the £29m over three years is accurate and if our £10m a year is right then they're still getting tiny bit less than us (£9,666,666 pa), hold on to that!

Unfortunately it has been reported in most places as around 29 million a year so I think it’s been rounded up by media. I can’t hold onto anything! 😞

Everton have not released the financial terms, but it is understood to be similar to the previous arrangement which was worth around £9.6 million a year.

Didn’t realise it was possible to sponsor 2 teams in the same league

It happened in the 2000/01 season with Aston Villa and Newcastle United, who were sponsored by NTL (who are now Virgin Media).

If I remember rightly NTL also sponsored Celtic and Rangers that season, and the Old Firm have often shared shirt sponsors (Carling and Tennants spring to mind).

Daughter’s birthday today and got the normal generic e-card. Then underneath I noticed Did you know: you share the same birthday month as Marco Silva, Lucas Digne, Djibril Sidibe and Andre Gomes!

Maybe the Comms team need to update their database. 😂

congrats!  that's also wild that 4 people had the same birthday.  must've been a holiday or something when they were conceived.
