Is this the new crest?

Going against popular opinion but this badge doesn't bother me really.

People don't like change, like when banknotes are redesigned there's a huge outcry about "monopoly money" but within a year they're familiar, no-one complains about them any more and old ones look quaint and dated. There was a massive amount of protest when the BBC changed its weather map ffs; now we're used to it it's the norm and no-one's bothered by it.

The badge has been changed/updated many times over the years and there's no tradition of it having NSNO on it.

If this is the new crest then pretty soon we'll all be used to it (and you can bet your life that if they change it in ten years time then many will be protesting that they don't like the new one and want to keep thissmile.png).

Could be wrong (and I'll probably be shot down....I can take ittongue.png) but that's my opinion.

It's not the change that bothers me tbh. It's that the new badge looks cheap and tacky. Look at Spurs and even the shite for how classy a badge change can look.

I really like Tottenham's new badge and wouldn't be against us trying to replicate it. I'd get rid of the border that's on the new crest and just have it open like Spurs have. Just have the tower and 'Everton' underneath would suit me. I don't think anything else is needed.

I don't think the club insignia is supposed to represent a basketball ?

Saying that, it's only a recent modification. They also had a club badge with latin inscription only in recent years, but can't quite remember what that ever was. The new design has only been evident in the recent past. Maybe prefered the old one.

Audere-est-Facere.

I know it's supposed to represent an old fashioned football but the "stitching" is nothing like any football I've ever seen....

But it is very like a basketball....

On a slightly side note - I'm reading on how Cardiff City changed their badge and also their home strip. What would you think if Everton got a new owner and they wanted to change our strip from Blue to Red?

It was a bit different for Cardiff though I think. Cardiff's rivals are Swansea (White) so changing red doesn't really affect them due to Wrexham being in the Blue Square League now.

I'd hate for it to happen and I don't think it would. I'd even be against us going back to black.

Probably start following the team that would be called Real Everton or something similar.

It'll be a long fucking day in January before that ever occurs.

Everton Football Club playing in red ? Dear me..

All I can ascertain from this, is the current badge will stay the same, and we won't be playing (home fixtures) in a different color anytime soon.

I would abhor Everton playing in red, but was reading on how it was pushed by the new owner at Cardiff. Was met with strong opposition initially from fans of course, but the owner got his way in the end. Red and a dragon is 'asians' and Vincent Tan would point out at Cardiff's recent promotion as proof.

I'm wondering if we had new investment that made all our 'money' problems go away - new players, wiped debt etc etc... but wanted to change the home strip colour is this something a club would accept? Maybe not red, but some other colour? I'm just surprised at how a club change from blue to red could be forced like that regardless of the fans.

Cardiff do play in Wales, and the country color is red, so maybe some supporters just got on with it. It's not as if their most hated rivals play in that color, which they don't (all white), and then there's Wrexham in the north, but hardly neighbors, and there can be no rivalry. Maybe some were against it at first, but it wasn't as big an issue for them as this talk about Everton playing in it - which they won't. Although of course there was that ill-advised pink top a season or two ago, but as for actual red, it won't happen, so people can rest easy.

Even bet the saddle was too high. Needs to take it into a repair shop, or bike specialist. So of course, this confirmation is for the club shirts for next season then. There will be no color change, and didn't think there would be. Merely a crest alteration that commences with the new season ?. Maybe it's not so bad, but still something many could have done without. The shape's not right at first glance. Maybe it's only for the one season and then revert back to how it was before ? Can appreciate any frustrations on this.

Dont get what this thread is about? United just sold their naming rights to their ground for £120 mill and we are shitting ourselves cos for once we have bothered to protect ourself license wise with a shite badge? This isnt our badge it will be a retail number, fuck me

Apparently this was confirmed at the Mid Wales Supporter's Club Awards this evening. Also apparently, Robert Elstone wasn't in attendance as he fell off his bike and is seeking help from a specialist.

You could look very silly if this is confirmed, Trev.
