Rooney

Recommended Posts

According to ITV news, an hour ago, Utd's Chief Executive has flown home from their pre-season tour (didn't realise he played as well!) to deal with "urgent transfer business".

Rooney also hasn't progressed any in the smart stakes since he ditched the ageing prostitutes for 'high class' escorts as he's been quoted (BBC) as saying he could probably 'do' Utd for constructive dismissal for the way they've treated him recently. My heart bleeds, you thick out of touch twat!

I know he never will but if he did sign back up as a Toffee how would he be received by the fans running out of the tunnel at the start of any match he went on to play for us?

He would need to do it soon, as it would be a bit of an insult to spend your best days playing against then expect a job when you're used up.

If he came back now or at the end of his career I think the reaction to him would be the same from most fans in that they would think he owed us so more would be expected from him than he had left to give. He's best staying away for his own and the club's sake.

The best thing for the club's sake would be for him to sign for us now. Someone could make a Youtube vid with that Coming Home song from Diddy and Skylar Grey and all would be forgotten as he fires us into the Champions League. Too bad we can't afford neither transfer fee nor wages.

Rooney is a real arsehole to be honest. Don't like the bloke full stop. When he runs out next season not only will the Goodison crowd boo him, but I can see him now getting the same treatment by the Man U fans.

This person has had the opportunity to be a real Legend at two clubs and become part of that club footballing folklore, but instead he is going to be regarded as a real knobhead.

Had the footballing world at your feet at 17 years old, and going the right way to be remembered for all the wrong reasons, by all the fans that once cheered his name. Wayne Rooney you are a real class act!

I personally wouldn't want him to wear an Everton shirt again.

I wouldn't want Rooney back, and more to the point, he won't ever be back at Everton you truly feel. Has been just about redundant at international level for the best part of a decade, and it's not a name that defenders really fear any longer. Still a certain degree of animosity towards the kid from some of our supporters after he left in 2004 and for some, it may never heal. If the plastics want him so bad, then they can have him ,I feel inclined on this issue.

  • 2 years later...

Clearly has influential people pulling strings for him. It's either summer 2016 or never for me

The only reason he would stay at United is money, is there anything he needs to achieve there??? He will likely break charltons record this year then it's just the fa cup I think.

I don't want to see another hasbeen join the likes of gazza, Mark hughes, ginola, eto, who frustrate the fans by reminding them how cruel father time is. So it's summer 2016 or nothing. I actually think he's got 2 years of decent footy, 3 at a push. By 33 he will be spent - mentally and physically. Only a new challenge will get him going, he's got about £50m+ behind him. Time to put a regrettable episode behind him.

does anyone recall how good it felt having him at our club?

I remember thinking "we have got the best player in the world at under 20" - it was a feeling of having a diego maradona... every time he got the ball you just sensed something was going to happen. We wanted to have this assurance off him like "I will not leave".

There was only one game where I felt a bit "hmmmm not sure whether he is all he is cracked up to be" - that was against Charlton in the league cup I think and Scott Parker ran the show - other than that he was just brilliant to watch.

When he went to United and scored the hat trick I felt sick, they were celebrating him and I remember thinking "you dont even know what you have got"

Since then aside from his first couple of years at united I have found him very "sensible" football wise, He hasn't got that rawness that I loved - at the start he would dribble past two players and bang a shot in, suddenly he is doing give and gos and placing his shots, all very effective but very ordinary and logical.

If he had something to offer I would have him back.

top post haf. I was there against Spurs when he had his debut. He was 16 and played in a 4-3-3. He was head and shoulders above everybody on the pitch. I thought then he was going to be a world beater. When he played for us and went with England I remember he turned Lillian thurham inside out and the world stood up. He went to United and I just don't think he turned out the player I thought he would be. I'd love him to come back if it was this summer but it won't and it never will be

how will he negate his 250k a week salary? how will united let him go?

love him back but i just don't see it happening.

He doesn't need another pay cheque ever to keep him in luxury for the rest of his life; he's been winning the lottery every month for the last decade so he could survive quite happily without the salary. United would let him go purely on a business level, he's contracted 'til 2019 but he's already not contributing in line with his cost to them, and he's certainly not going to be getting any better-though he'll still have his moments.

Not saying it will happen but I do think it's a possibility, he'd be a useful man to have on the bench :).

so you're saying he would go to them and tell them he wants to leave to Everton, would like to terminate his contact. they will want to because he's declined and very expensive.

a transfer wouldn't work because we would be stuck with the same contract correct? the above scenario is the only one that would work?

i'm trying to figure this out from a logistic perspective.
