Maybe returns for Wolfsburg, maybe not. Oviedo, Garbutt, or even Distin v. West Ham?? If Distin plays ahead of a natural LB I'll go ape shit. markjazzbassist
terrible news, he's been our best player this year. i'd love to see either oviedo (only if he's fully ready) or garbutt. as discussed in the garbutt thread, this might be a good time to figure out which of the 2 is our next LB and move the other to Left Mid. MC11
Big miss you only have to look at the stats to see he's been a major outlet. However Oviedo stepped in last year and was a revelation.. Same again please. Edited November 15, 2014 by MC11 Matt
Elston Gunnn
If Distin plays ahead of a natural LB I'll go ape shit. I have a vague memory of Distin at LB a couple of matches last season, or maybe 2012-13. No memory of how he performed, though I gather your memory on that point is distinct. I've heard little about Oviedo's progress, so maybe Garbutt is best bet. Bad news is that it's "a fortnight at most," which may be roughly translated as "a fortnight at least." Cornish Steve
Training methods at the England camp? Roy Hodgson was only too quick to blame the number of games Everton have played recently. No matter what, though, it definitely sounds like a short-term and not a long-term injury. No doubt Distin can play there if need be, but he's not a LB so if we have a fit natural LB (no matter his age) then he should play there. Paddock
It seems this year that every time we get a key player nearing fitness we lose another one. Barkley first game of the season, he gets into full training we lose Mirallas, he's now nearing fittness we lose Baines plus Stones in the middle of it all. I've been really looking forward to seeing our full squad and best possible team out and playing together for an extended run.
Toffee_in_LA
Hibbert did the best he could as a fill in out of position lb but baines was missed today. Hope he's back against Wolfsburg although keeping him out until next weekend may be better

markjazzbassist
I miss him so much! i do too. we really need him back, i think it will really help to give us more in attack and penetrate the box more with his runs, crossing and link up play. will he be fit after the break? Elston Gunnn
He'll be playing in 2 (I think) friendlies during the break, so he should be. Just to be clear, "friendlies" doesn't refer to England's friendlies with Spain and France, right? Baines hasn't yet been recalled into the national team. As a point of info (for me), do EPL teams routinely play informal, closed-door friendlies during international breaks? If yes, against other EPL clubs? JoeQuince
It'll be very nice having an attacking threat again! If nothing else, it means that teams have to really respect our left side. This will have to open up even more opportunities for Gerry and Seamus down the right.
