5.36m pounds, that's 100k a week.  honestly that's good, Walsh would have put him on 150k a week or more.  also walsh would never have landed him.

Really, really want this to be true but the Debbie Downer in me keeps reminding myself that this time yesterday many of these same sources were adamant Mina was done and dusted and that he'd be announced today. We'll see I guess. Not good for the nervous system all this.

Not really the same sources at all, though. Myers especially is the one I look to... haven’t seen him announce anything prematurely that hasn’t come through. He was the first to cool the Mina rumors yesterday.

Was thinking about this before. Has he got it in him?

To be a shit version... probably. We would desperately need an out and out rock of a DM if them to played ahead of him.

Tbf I think they are largely different sources. I think the Mina one came from one main outlet. I dont think people like Myers or Kirkbride were that big on the Mina deal whereas they are for this.

This is Everton though so I am going to wait until its announced!

i think it would be

                                   gana

                     bernard      gylfi

        walcott             tosun    richarlison

he's be in an advanced 2 with gylfi in the midfield.  he's right footed but played on the left (like richarlison).

You couldn't play Gana holding midfield for 2 reasons he would leave his position because he is attracted to the ball like a magnet no matter where it is on the pitch, also he would be expected to play out from the back and feed the ball to others to get us on the front foot, be he doesn't possess the ability to move the ball with the pace and accuracy required he would give the ball away to much in dangerous areas and put us on the back foot.

It's amazing, we are signing a truly great player and what happens?

Gana debate infects the thread, dear lord its like Haff and Lukaku all over again.

We need a thread control unit :GrammarPolice:

I hate to be a party pooper and Bernard would be/is a great signing, but we simply CANNOT afford to play our current back four and a front five of Sig, Bernard, Walcott, Tosun and Richarlison. It would be like Martinez on meth, we score 4, that score 8, three of them in injury time every week. I mean I love open attacking football, but come on...

Teams won’t push forward against us so quickly with such a potent attack though. Defence needs work but from last year we have digne and Coleman to include. Add a solid CB and our starting 11 could be excellent..

Makes it a bit more a game of chess, doesn't It?! Teams would know we were weak at the back for pace but also know we are quick on the attack...what do you do?!!

Well what ever way it goes it’s better than last year where we were weak at the back and toothless uptop.....

It's the counter attack I'd worry about, especially if our full backs were pushing forward.

The Guardian are saying that the other PL teams have baulked at his 200k a week wage demands. Is he worth that much even on a free?

All the reports said he has ahrr s a five year deal for 100k a week don’t they?

Probably papers just annoyed that we have got him, so have to play it down again.

Does anyone still read the opinionated shite that masquerades as an independent press in this country?
