Swarzy
Was thinking of getting a smart watch. Anyone got/had one? Like the look of the LG.
Cornish Steve
Bought a Pebble for my daughter's birthday, and she's been pleased with it. Low end, but works very well.
Matt
The Samsung one is getting impressive reviews Edited September 6, 2015 by Matt
Hafnia
I'd buy one if the fitness and golf apps are good. Obviously needs to be waterproof too!
Cornish Steve
I'd buy one if the fitness and golf apps are good. Obviously needs to be waterproof too! The Pebble is fully waterproof. That's one of its main selling points.
Hafnia
They strike a sweet spot, obviously they tell the time, but the fitness functionality of them is great, to be able to see text messages without needing to take phone out is great. I do prefer the round classic shape though.
Louis
They strike me as something that will hold my attention for all of five minutes. I really don't see the appeal in them.
Matt
I know what you mean, Louis. I'm waiting for the forearm tablet/smartphone. Think that's the future

johnh
The Pebble is fully waterproof. That's one of its main selling points. Its only waterproof to a depth of 1,500 ft though.
MikeO
Its only waterproof to a depth of 1,500 ft though. No good to me then, I free dive deeper than that .
rubecula
I have a watch that tells the time, tells the day and date, is waterproof and never needs a battery. What more do I need from a watch?
Cornish Steve
I have a watch that tells the time, tells the day and date, is waterproof and never needs a battery. What more do I need from a watch? Water-proof, shock-proof, tamper-proof, never runs down, always accurate, and....you lost it.
Hafnia
Funny isn't it, people said the same about phones.

Hafnia
I'm waiting on the Microsoft band 2. People in work have gone mad for the fitbit. Must admit some of the lifestyle tracking is incredible. Heart rate, steps, sleep, etc etc.

Must admit some of the lifestyle tracking is incredible. Heart rate, steps, sleep, etc etc. I've got a FitBit Charge (without the HR monitor) but it's certainly not a smart watch. Not even sure the Surge, their top of the line one, is either. Not convinced by the accuracy of such a cheap product though. My mate has a Garmin hiking watch, and we went walking together. I clocked up 6km whilst he clocked up 3.5km walking alongside me.... Edited September 25, 2015 by Matt

Matt
That's what I have read in reviews... Accuracy of distance on fitbit is poor. It seems to be based on movement of the wrist rather than any GPS guided stuff... ....I'll leave the jokes to you lot

Hafnia
I bet the watch is confused.... its clocking up miles whilst it is syncing 1 metre from a PC. Matt
johnh
I had a state of the art (1960's) watch. Waterproof, shockproof, anti-magnetic, self-winding, showed date and time - kept catching fire.
