JTStanley1 Posted September 18, 2017 Report Share Posted September 18, 2017 He's had a difficult start with the constant formation and defensive partner changes with him playing in between any combination of Martina/Holgate and Jags/WIlliams, it might be worth looking at signing Tarkowski from Burnley in January to partner him long term, he's looked very solid so far this season. He has gone from a very compact side to one that's a bit all over the place at the moment so maybe he just needs a bit more time and confidence. If you want a strong defence you need consistency, and for a young lad even more so. I think we need to go out and buy an experienced and first team ready centerback on the right side of 30. Williams has not been at it this year, Jags has been hit and miss and is 35 years old. Most teams would probably have a back 4 with combined ages around that. To me another CB is more pressing than a LB, 2 performing CB's alongside Baines is the lesser of 2 evils as opposed to a new LB slotted in with the current shambles of switching CB pairings. There must be some kid we can play at left back. I though we looked a bit better today with 3 at the back and we should start that way, especially if we have to play both Jags and Williams.
