Not for me , he hasn't got the positional sense to play RB or RWB . Play him in his proper position or not at all

Surely we are past the square pegs in round hole days?

We have got a very promising young player in Kenny who is perfect for that roll , so use him

Disagree entirely. If you haven't got the positional sense to play full back or wing back then you shouldn't be playing football.

Easiest positions to master from a tactical perspective.

Suarez isn't very good on the wing or at full back. Paris will want their money for NeyMar back too!

At a certain level I agree with you but in the PL against potential world class players you can't get away without playing specialist players in specialist positions. Some can do a job for a few games, but put the likes of Hazard up against a midfielder at RB and they will eat them alive.

Why would you play one of the world's best attacking players at full back?

More to the point... when did he play there? I actually think he would do a job.

I've seen Suarez on the wing.... very good he is too - swaps with Messi.

Tom isn't a full back and doesn't have any of the attributes to play there, if we are going to start playing the likes of Davies and Cuco Martrna ahead of him is there any point keeping Kenny on the books?

Think he'll be going out on loan anyway. Basically, it doesn't matter what we think - as most of us would start Kenny - if Koeman and the other coaches don't see him as a starter there's not a lot we can do about it.

Shall we just have a recap...

The question arose as to why play Tom out of position... we don't know it's out of position as we didn't know he couldn't play there.

Based on his attributes... sound brain, tactical acumen, comfort on the ball, tackling, passing, mobility it was clear to me he could do the job and he did it better than cuco.

Then apparently he lacked tactical awareness to play the role? Really? Man of the matchbsays no.

Then it goes down the fuckin irritating bollocks route of making stupid points about playing a £75m or £195m player at full back.

Followed by a not saying anything but I'm saying something post.

Ffs get a grip.

The lad is a shit hot player who is getting a football education. I'm all for him getting a variety of roles.

Kenny just may not be ready yet...

I'm not questioning whether or not he could do a job there

The point is ' he did a job' , and yes I would trust him to do that in the perm , but I want more than that from a full back

Holgate can do a job as well but I don't see him as the answer either

For me the point is we don't need him to do a job when we have someone like Kenny waiting in the wings who has everything you need from a modern day full back

Fair enough I take the point that if Koeman doesn't think he is up to it then so be it , and I would rather see Davies there than Cuco

Personally I'd play Davies in the centre ahead of gana or schneiderlin for his around game.

I'm merely expressing how I like his ability as a player who can adapt.

No... I'm happy to debate therefore I will post. Rather than being a bit of a nob about it.

Didn't think you could

I put ... to delete a post I was going to make, but decided against it (I didn't delete the post because I've accidentally deleted posts before that weren't mine when on my phone). Not being a nob, just avoiding a pointless conversation, which I failed to do anyway.

I agree with you on Davies for what it's worth

Thanks for the recap.

Cuco played RB whereas Davies played RWB. There is a big difference, much more defensive responsibility at RB. CuCo is crap but the point is the games aren't comparable. All we know is that Davies can cover the RWB position against a crap side that have no real attacking intent.

We know Holgate can play RWB and RB against Premiership teams.

We also know Cuco is terrible and couldn't play hopscotch ;)

In my opinion, against Stoke Davies should be playing in midfield alongside Schneiderlin and Klaasen. Thats where he is best and is good enough to start in that position.

No argument there , I think he is going to be top drawer

Also don't think we need 2 defensive midfielders in the side when playing the likes of Bournemouth at home .

Definitely. I would like to see us change it up a bit at home but saying that you can't complain about our home record last season so what do I know.
