75% chance he stays for me.  The big club in for him was PSG, they have already agreed with Ander Herrera and he is their man.  So PSG is out.  Man United?  I just don't see it, we can pay the same and the only thing they have is Europa, i don't see playing on thursday in kazakhstan being that enticing to him.

Nothing official about Herrera yet.

Not back tracking at all Pete. Next idiotic comment was meant as the next because there are so many, not just the previous. And yes, because it’s you, I’ve made that clear. I find most of your views idiotic  I don’t know how to be any clearer.

You can say it doesn’t bother you but you’ve been questioning me about it since.

I neg things I disagree with, it just happens I disagree with a lot of what you say.

I’m bored now Pete. Maybe we’ll talk more when I don’t think your views are daft.

It implies the last one was. You have been given opportunity after opportunity to clarify and frankly you haven't, and this I think all your posts are idiotic excuse is pathetic.

You leave it all you want, but I will call you out again next time.

Yeah legally he can’t , he signed a pre-agreement which is about all he can do till the window opens.

It can be announced now. The fact it hasn't suggests there is no agreement and is why United are still negotiating with him (and Mata).

I can see us selling gana. I think the offers will come in and if he can get a champions league team I feel marcel is a guy that will appreciate he didn’t throw his toys out and will grant him the move

as long as we get top dollar and his young replacement i'm fine with it.  We just need to make sure we aren't left high and dry or overpay for an average replacement.

Most of these deals are done well in advance. Mad that we are talking about a twenty nine year old as being old 😂. Think it’s going to be a really busy window.

Get our main targets done nice and early, and then just sit and wait and see if any juicy deals that we can’t turn down arise towa4ds the end of the window. That’s the way we should be going.

Not for Gana. Throw money at him, give him an out in January. He wants to play int the big competitions, “compensate” him if we fuck up

We’ve got a lot of players that will be appealing to a lot of lower level mid level prem teams and foreign suitors. Like I’ve said be aggressive steal a march and get the players we want. Romey is right we just sit back then. Let us be a Chelsea for once. Instead of scraping if we need to offload on loans we will it’s going to take a good few windows to recycle the poor buys we have been laboured with. I think brands being given a space on the board indicates morishi is on board

But 40 million no brainer, and let’s say we don’t get Gomes who’s going to cost 30 million.

I think Brands would have already weighed up that that could be the outcome and he’s got 70 million to find 2 replacements, I reckon he won’t be finding that much of a problem and he will have money to spare.

Not that I want to see any of the regular starters leaving but 40 million, I think Brands could find someone equally better who’s mid twenties and get him on a five year deal.

Anyway as mentioned once or twice before I don’t want to consider Gomes leaving.😜

Use the money to buy Gomes. Team looked better when Gana went off and Gomes come on yesterday.

I think Gomes is pretty much signed for Spurs isn’t he? He rumour is that they already have an agreement in place and he wants to go.

So that would be two gone and 40m to replace them.

Plus the 30 million we would still have which wasn’t used for Gomes if he doesn’t sign for us, so we will have 70m at our disposal to replace them.

Brands said we didn’t have the money but him permanent. So we haven’t got 30m sitting around collecting dust.

May the moment we have to spend 30m to stay as we are.

If he goes and Gana goes, the o key extra money we have to spend is what we get for Gana’s sale.

No we loaned him this season mate.

I know what your saying. If we had earmarked that money for him, then it’s still here. But it would take that money, possibly more to replace Gomes. It would also take the Gana money to replace Gana.

Then we find ourselves in the same financial situation, but with possible two unproven premier league players.

Rate them or not, Gana and Gomes are the heart of our midfield.

I trust Brands and co, but the thought of both of them leaving has me really worried about next season.

Top three in fan's player of the year as well, along with Richarlison and Digne (who won, rightly so imo). Us Blues just don't understand football do we?

That doesn’t matter a jot if Gana puts another transfer request in and Gomes doesn’t want to sign, as much as I would like them both to stay I think it would be better business to take 40m for Gana, and if they both go we should have at least 70m to replace them.

Joint player's player of the year (with Digne); what do they know?

What does matter if he says he doesn’t want to sign, unless your going to send him the poll in the hope it will convince him to stay.

And who’s they I haven’t seen anyone say they don’t rate or want Gomes to stay?

So you've been turned, wanting him to stay and thinking we can get £40m for him suggests you've come to the conclusion he's quite useful eh?

Just Pete to get now.....

Image result for hell freezing over

I have seen a better player in the last half of this season probably because he’s put more in as he said he would to try and get his move, but hey what can you do I still feel justified in my critique of him in the past and I still think he could do a lot better when in possession of the ball but having him play more forward of Gomes lately has helped in to make less mistakes in his positioning.

You may have noticed I haven’t been running him down for a while now because I’ve had no reason to, it’s never been personal for me even though it’s been portrayed by others that way.

In Feb 2018 he earned the right to a contract extension with us until 2022 and signed it (presumably) without anyone holding a gun to his head, we should hold him to it. No good selling our best players because "we'd be denying them Champs League"; we need to keep them so they can get a chance of CL with us. Don't want us to be a feeder club any more.

He's one of the main reasons we never got closer to champions league. 6 assists and 3 goals in three seasons isn'ttt good enough when you're meant to be the link between attack and defence. Nevermind how many we concede because of him as well.

Looking across the whole league you'd struggle to find any CM with stats as bad as his.

Except that his role primarily is breaking up play. You’d struggle to find any DCM with stats as good as his.

Your answer is in your own post though PeteO.

And I quote PeteO, 07/06/2019.

link up between defence and attack.

This is suggesting he takes the ball from defence and moves it to attack.... which is what he does very well.

And yet again I will ask this and DEMAND an answer for just once, just this once... please someone!!!!!

If a player sets up a chance and the forward doesn’t score.... does this mean the person setting him up is useless? Because as previously posted... with evidence... Gana was amongst the top five in Europe.....that’s not just the premier league, but other countries as well, ( google Europe and you will see its larger than your home town).

So Gana is actually creating a lot more than a player in his position is expected to. But if the chance isn’t put away.....?

You got it, it DOESNT go down as an assist.

He doesn't play DCM though. Schneiderlin did last season, Barry before, and Gomes this year.

All he does is tackle a lot. We'd concede less if he takled half as much and just stayed in position.

if he wants to go now is the best time.  we get max profit from the sale and can get a replacement now before preseason.  i love Gana but if he wants to go he has earned the right to.

I don’t know about earned the right you would expect players to honour their contract, but he’s already submitted one transfer request so it’s likely he will submit another, so he must be allowed to leave before it effects the harmony in the team if that’s his wish.

And when one door closes another opens and sure with 35-40m we can do better.

That certainly happened after January didn't it, really knocked the harmony (not). "Player power" pisses me right off, if you sign a contract then 'king honour it as you would in any other profession.

In all fairness Mike we don’t know what was said behind closed doors to him, he may have been told if the right offer comes in for him next transfer window they wouldn’t stand in his way, which could be what gave him the impetus to play better second half of season than first.

But as I said in my first post no one earns the right to renegade there contract.

Yes. Yes he does. DCM is his role.

Hed have to tackle half as much of the others actually kept position and possession. That’s their job not his.
