nutmegwolf203
http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/01/20/ademola-savouring-blues-start Really enjoy this interview, the video and the extra dialogue below. He's really engaging for a footballer of his age. Seems intelligent, and for a player I knew nothing about a month ago I feel like he can make a real contribution to the club. Hafnia
Sounds like this kid has got that "rooney thing"..... not many young lads can do what he has done. Fair play. Seems he has stepped up levels and impressed.
markjazzbassist
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/20/everton-ronald-koeman-ademola-lookman some really great stuff in there "Footballers only take a day or two to work out whether a new signing is any good or not, they know almost straight away, and they saw a player working at their own intensity" and then this about davies “He is a young player who took his chance in the first team, he is entitled to be happy about that, but if he starts to think he is the big man at Everton we will do something to help him keep his two feet on the ground. Just this week we have been showing him clips of some of the things he could have done better against City, just so he knows it wasn’t quite a perfect performance, but he is a good boy and a really hard working player. We are not expecting him to lose focus or start to get sloppy.”
StevO
jack wilshere, every club he hits or ciggy he smokes is all over the papers. rooney every prostitiute scandal, every "lady on the side" is reported, his porn posts on instagram, etc and all over the papers for weeks. happens all the time. But this is my point. They have just got on with it. It's not ruined their careers at all. They are tough enough to just ignore it and carry on. StevO
Yes and no. It's on both sides, the media and the player - or to put it another way, cause and affect. I'd also say that the Beckham and Rooney generation was arguably the best in my lifetime (Gerrard, Cole, Neville, Ferdinand, Lampard, Scholes, etc.) but that the team was let down by the FA by hiring shite managers. Completely, too much quality to not at least make a final.
pete0
Of that last of players the best one didn't get in the team until his big move. Lallana, come through the lower league helping Soton get promoted twice and proving he can do it in the league. He gained experience and matured, the others got too much too fast and haven't reached their potential. markjazzbassist
Completely unphased by the premier league he came in today and was pressing hard and linked up well. Great first touch and picked some good passes. Very impressed so far.

markjazzbassist
I didn't get to see the last part of the game - what does he bring? sticky feet holds the ball up well, able to pick a pass, nice turning in tight spots, and for a little guy he's actually pretty strong. There's a good point there, for a little guy he doesn't get knocked off the ball as easily as you'd expect. markjazzbassist and nutmegwolf203

Btay
Yep, he's great in tight areas, going to be a proper handful in the 20 or so of games to come until he's ready and upto the speed of the game

I just wish he'd burn past people a bit more when he has the ball. He's a speedy fucker but turns back too much. Hopefully that changes the more at home he feels at this level. Hopefully that changes the more at home he feels at this level. Yeah, I'm thinking he will start being a little more aggressive in 1-on-1 situations once he gets used to the speed of the game. I'm sure he knows the expectations on him and is playing it a bit safe while also expressing himself in little ways. Romey 1878
