Cornish Steve
All my life, music has had an immense impact on me. I can still remember certain theme songs from my childhood; I would watch some just to hear the music. These may be before most people's time , but here are three from me for starters. I'd be interested to know which themes others remember from childhood days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnEmSS5oyY8
Cornish Steve
Then, of course, there was Thunderbirds.
MikeO
Remember the Robinson Crusoe one very well (and Thunderbirds natch) but I'll throw this into the mix. I never watched the programme because it was bit girly and it was in German with English dubbed on it but the tune stuck with me.
Cornish Steve
Yes, I remember that one, too. Moving into the early 70s, there was also the theme to Black Beauty.
Matt
A-Team jumped straight to mind for some reason, then Neighbours along with a bunch of cartoons
Formby
The 60s / 70s were great for theme songs. My personal faves: Joe 90 Space 1999 Man about the House
Cornish Steve
I remember 'Man about the house'. The pictures in that video remind me also of George and Mildred, the spin-off series.
Cornish Steve
Many these shows were Supermarionation. Another favourite of mine was Captain Scarlet.
johnh
Yes, I remember that one, too. Moving into the early 70s, there was also the theme to Black Beauty. When my eldest daughter was 6 years old and Black Beauty came on TV on Sunday afternoon, she was so moved by the music and the pictures of Black Beauty galloping across the countryside that she used to burst into tears. This happened every episode. My favourite - Z Cars.

Cornish Steve
Can you remember which TV shows used this music?
Cornish Steve
And this, I'm told, is the theme music from my favourite radio show as a young child. As a teen, I had to play this piece at a piano competition. (In the video, it's shown in E-major; in reality, the original (for just one player) is in F-sharp major - a little more difficult.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKHHT1YD22A Edited February 28, 2017 by Cornish Steve
