General Election

For me the worst thing he did was to take his family on a fifty-odd mile round trip to check if his eyesight was OK to drive back to London; what if it wasn't? He could've killed them all or, worse, an innocent passer-by.

I agree on the social services point though but surely a man in his position would be able to source some child-care in London. He's not exactly short of a few bob is he?

The thing is Mike he was caught out visiting beauty spots and came up with this lame excuse that he was checking if he was safe to drive, but when he got to the castle area he felt sick and had to get out the car and walk to a bench and sit there with his wife a child for 15 minutes that’s why he was seen there, and then on the drive back his son conveniently wanted to go for a wee by another beauty spot that’s why they were seen walking in the woods, if anyone believes that they need to check themselves in for psychiatric help.

Not to mention that some of this took place while Cummings was unable to get out of bed due to the severity of the aches he was experiencing according to his wife’s account that was published before all of this came to light.

Lie after lie.

Oh I don't doubt that a lot of what he has said has been tattle. He cocked up by going to a beauty spot. The media needs to make it's mind up about what they are angry about. Is it because he went to Durham or is it because he tried to cover his tracks? Seems they just want a circus as usual.

Like I said before, this is going to be real interesting in how the Tories react. If they stick by their guns, which I suspect they will, then they are basically giving the finger to legacy media. The world does not revolve around the BBC, Piers Morgan or Twitter outrage mobs. Their have lost their grip on the population and how they can influence them.

Your right the world doesn’t revolve around those you mentioned, and journalists can be very tribal in there views and more often than not are a force for evil rather than good.
But sometimes they can provide a very valid service and come together no matter what party they are batting for to be a powerful voice for the people against the establishment and it’s leaders, and this is a prime example of the media from all political persuasions coming together to bring to the attention of the country a wrong that deserves to be brought into the open and be debated, with no political grievances just purely right and wrong, and pretty much all sides have agreed he was guilty of breaking the rules and should resign or be sacked, bar his paymaster the PM for his own selfish and inadequate reasons.

Thanks to the internet I found out about coronavirus in late November. I was getting video footage of Chinese government welding people into their apartments and using drones with thermal imaging to spy on citizens and detect their temperature. The news reporting nothing of this. Chinese citizens being turned away from hospitals as they were in a total state of collapse.

The mainstream media has not once put China to question. It dare not speak ill for fear of being cut off from the marketplace there. For that I will never forgive them.

3000 deaths in China my arse!

Perhaps because they weren't able to verify it.   On the internet you can go down a lot of rabbit holes and come out on the other side outraged that the mainstream media is not reporting it.

'Thanks to the internet I found out ..' 😉

Starmer has Johnson in his pocket at PMQ's and has done since he got the job, been very impressed by him.

The only place it matters is the voting booth.

Hopefully we'll see it transfer to there but I won't be holding my breath.

Polls like that had Labour winning the last election and then they got destroyed.

The last opinion poll that had Labour in the lead was in July, five moths before the election (and that was caused by the ephemeral rise in Brexit party support); subsequent 150 odd all had the Tories winning.

This slump in Boris and the Tories ratings is far to early in their tenure, which gives them plenty of time to turn things round before the next election, unless of course there’s a second spike or Brexit goes terribly wrong, and they are forced to resign, I live in hope.

That's a very interesting graph.  Shows the libdems really screwed up with their 'revoke' policy;  Change UK was a complete joke ; there's 20% normal Tory voters, the other 25% are brexit party/ukip thugs ; unlike other European countries the Green movement never got going in the UK (at least not for the Green Party) ; .. I don't know what it says about Corbyn but Labour really could have used all those wasted libdem votes.

I can’t wait for the commons to properly resume, PM question time is going to be a blood bath, with Johnson and his front bench being slaughtered by the opposition parties, Starmer will question him like he’s in the dock, and the only verdict will be guilty of allowing 25,000 more people to die than should have, by being more concerned about Brexit than the life’s of the British public, and employing the Trump philosophy to Covid-19.

Boris Johnson claims he never new of Rashford’s free school meals fight until Tuesday.
I believe he new but didn’t give a shit because he was more interested in Brexit, the reason why he was so blasé about Coronavirus, he cared more about pushing Brexit through than the 10,000s of life’s he could have saved if he paid more attention to the pandemic in the early days.
The mans a corporate murderer who cares more about Brexit than people dying and whether children starve.

David Lammy MP accused the Conservatives of using Churchill’s statue to wage a “culture war” as a distraction tactic: “Labour isn’t talking about Churchill’s statue. The Lib Dems aren’t taking about it. The Greens aren’t talking about it. The only party talking about Churchill’s statue are the Conservatives. It’s bizarre. They want a culture war because they want to distract from the real issues.”

Political activist Femi Oluwole echoed this, claiming: “Boris Johnson wants a cultural war because he wants to get people riled up and defensive of things they hold dear, be that statues of war heroes or bad or faulty people.

He said it was “quite predictable and tragic” that in response to mass protest about a black man who was killed by a police officer and huge cause for protest on systemic racism in the UK, the Prime Minister had decided the “real victim was statues from years ago who were white supremacists”.
