Also, Rennes don’t have a massive reason to sell as they’re in Europa, and he could get a lot better offers after a year on display playing internationally at the club level. I read an article on Rennes after the game and he was listed as their clear star player last season. He only scored 3 and assisted 3 in 33 games last season so he was obviously flattered by us but at the same time it was only his first season as a starter.
