Rudiger was embarrassing at the end. Defensivey we look very strong, we just need to get our passes together into their half. Nervous that the ref will steal the headlines in this one. Some people at the time of my post were suggesting he was playing far better. I would say only Gomes and Digne are ahead of that. The rest are similar with probably the front 4 falling below it. We’ve had a number of calls that should have gone against us as fouls, but they’ve had a number of calls that should have been cards. Some truly nasty challenges. Walcott and Richie have been offside when he has tried to slip them in on a couple of occasions but even then the ball was over/under hit. Bernie has done some good work at the back and he has helped Gomes control the ball up the field when the play has been down the left. He isnt making himself enough of a threat but if he is helping us go from back to front. I think we can wait and see how the 2nd half develops before making any changes.
