markjazzbassist
Just wanted to start a discussion on this. Carlo regularly rotated his squad at Napoli and other jobs he’s had. He is doing that here as well. It’s interesting because I didn’t think we had enough quality on the bench to rotate. I think therein lies the key. It’s not a strategy just for clubs like City, it’s more a philosophy that he believes in. I think Carlo rotates the squad for a couple reasons. -it gives players another chance to prove themselves -it keeps players happy because they know everyone will get time on the pitch, they won’t be mired to the bench for eternity -It helps to prevent burnout obviously it’s not a perfect thing and can and will be exploited, but I feel like I’m starting to understand why he does it. FairWooney
I'm not that sure about it when your lacking enough quality to rotate but in the case of Keane I'd rather he get game time than thrown in when we're desperate. Similarly Holgate's been brilliant but we shouldn't put too much pressure on him and make him feel he's a must pick. Was surprised Bernard missed the last game but he never plays 90 so maybe just preserving him. I'd have him in my team as often as possible though. The only guarantees seem to be Pickford, Digne, DCL and richarlison. Seems to be working ok anyway London Blue, MikeO and Aidan
Aidan
I'd imagine we will see more consistency in the squad for the next 4 fixtures. At the very least I'd like to see Mina and Holgate start those games. Keane isn't up to scratch and seems to bring performances of whoever is he paired with down. pete0

It doesn't really look like that's in his thinking. Maybe we'll sign a younger LB in the summer and then that rotation will happen.

The lad can’t cross a ball in open play anymore. Palfy and markjazzbassist

Coincidence that Bernard is spending more time linking up with the forwards than the full back we now score more goals? As long as we’re winning I can take it.
