Fernandes Transfer Still Ongoing...

Recommended Posts

Everton website still says the same as it said yesterday and he had his medical 2 days ago.

Can't they give us some kinda update or at least change words arong. Been checking every hour for 3 days now, the headline keeps changing but the write up remains the same.

Typical build our hopes up, drag it out then (usually) leave us disappointed.

We need at least 2 bodies in they must know that so stp fuckin around and get him signed.

Still not completed.. why did the club announce this so early? Why not wait until it's done and dusted or is it a PR stunt to say 'look, we're trying but players arn't willing to come here'

oh come on, i cant believe everyones gone all doom and gloom again! oh wait, i can, were evertonians, thats what we do!

look, this guy is 50% owned by MSI, does no one else see that there will be complications with this? benfica want a clause put in to say we buy him at the end of the season, that can be comlicated enough between two parties, but when a third party is stood watching like a hawk with its legal and financial teams counting every penny, i think it may take a couple more days yet.

on the positive the echo were refering to healy a possible second signing after we had sorted a deal for fernandes, and the echo normally have a clue whats goin on.

oh and then the issue of the CEO being in Ireland too

Held up by "Red Tape" apparently...

Everton are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Benfica midfielder Manuel Fernandes on loan by the weekend.

"The player is happy to join the team it's just a bit of red tape that we've got left to deal with," an Everton spokesman told BBC Sport.

The 20-year-old Portuguese player underwent a medical at their Bellefield training ground earlier this week.

He is set to come to Everton for an initial six-month period, with the option to make the move permanent.

Fernandes spent the first half of the season on loan at Portsmouth, who were priced out of a permanent deal.

red tape = MSI causing problems!

besides, if a 20year old is worth 40k a week then i think we would have more competition

I was merely suggesting the red tape is a gulf between the players demands and what Everton are prepared to offer. The figures were hyperthetical!

If this happens I will be most peeved  : http://football-forever.com/forum/showthre...2973#post322973

Liverpool have entered the race for Benfica's Manuel Fernandes after a possible move to Everton looks to have fallen through.

Fernandes was set to join the blue half of Merseyside after he passed a medical at their Bellefield training ground but the fee remains to be a stumbling block for Bill Kenwright.

Benitez has been alerted that he could persuade Fernandes to join Liverpool with the lure of Champions League football. This will come as a huge blow to Everton who have lost James McFadden and Andy Johnson through long term injuries whilst selling David Weir and Simon Davies in the meantime.

It's Sissoko all over again :(

They've accepted a £2.5m offer so he's going for talks. Anyone any idea what we've offered? If we matched Charlton's bid we'd surely be a better option than them!

According to reports we had a bid accepted and talked to him but for some reason DM has pulled out.

Not sure if its to do with wages or cos we need to bring in a striker as cover but if its either won't be happy.

Should be looking at striker for loan anyway

No worries, guess we're all frustrated at this (cos we've seen it so many times before).

Someone on NSNO said it was money related and will fail because of, although have also heard it's international clearance. hope it's the latter.

Same guy on NSNO said we will sign Lua Lua on a loan to perm deal this week, that would be a good'n. Sorry if this is all documented elsewhere on the site, only just logged in for the 1st time in 24 hours!

Cant argue with that.

Some reports suggest Manuel & the invisble Brazillian will play V Bournmouth.

Whatching SSN this ornig was depressing, it was trotting off all the recent signing, but none for us :(

David Moyes was on Prem preview on SS1, even though theirs no prem this weekend, they were taling about us being 2 points of a european place.

Its not all doom and gloom

Think well get fernandez and maybe one more, but can see moysie as usual keeping his cash til the summer, the tight jock bastard

I'm usually quite cynical in these situations (realist) but I think we will get him, otherwise my patience is seriously wearing thin with the empty promises we have to endure twice every year with no deliverance. Let's hope we're not being taken for mugs this time!!
