Robo
so there are the options, my choice would be to revelop Goodison but what would be your choice, find a plot inside the city or surrender the city to the red shite

SimonButtle
Yeh but the amount of rebuilding that needs to be done is huge, there are seats in the main stand where you can't see the pitch properly which for a prem club is poor, that part of the city is also built on marsh land which means there must be some subsidence.Stadia now have things like roofs and multiple tv screens, we would have to strip it down to a bare shell to make these mods, when would you do it? it would take longer than a close season, so where would we play in the meantime? Bill
I suggested that months ago, after all it was our home originally. Could play there for a season till Goodison is rebuilt.
thebluenose
if we could play at anfield whilst Goodison got demolished and rebuilt into a 50-55k seater than im all for it. it worked for fulham and QPR whilst craven cottage was being refurbished

SimonButtle
so we will have to wait for them to get their arses in gear then which could take a few years, not good enough for me i'm afraid

thebluenose
if it moved to chester il be thrilled lol. no seriously. im not bothered if we get a stadium in kirkby or another place in liverpool. even if we redevelop goodisonil be happy as we have a bigger capacity stadium with no obstructed views and out of date facilities. Blue4Ever
id stay at Goodison but they have said its not a possibility to expand so id say within the city.
Mac
I think a major stumbling block may well be the cost of real estate inside City limits. The further out we go, the cheaper it will be to buy the land. Goodison is a beautiful old lady, but the operative word is OLD, let's move on with an eye to the future. SimonButtle
There are problems with the actual land and soil base round that part of the city, so it would involve more than just rebuilding the stadium, they need to be sorted before the rebuild could start. It would just be easier to find another site and build a new one. StevO
init i dont think they let you in the chaps leage on history do they. theres allways a time when you gotta let go look at arsenal from crapy highbry to classy emirets thats the way forwards. i dont see any gunners fans moanin about it im behind you 100% mate, but bad comparison, Ashburton Grove is literally about 500 yards away, it would be like us moving to vernon sangster
