Not started it yet and it'll be quite a lengthy process but I've downloaded all 110 episodes of Northern Exposure which ran from 1990-95. Brilliant programme, loved it; only reminded of it by seeing Rob Morrow in Designated Survivor.

Where have you downloaded from Mike ?.

Half way through breaking bad. I love it but this “fly” episode is really bad struggling to get through it

Probably the only bad episode in the series. That one frustrated me. Definitely a filler episode.

I thought it was great because it went completely against the flow but also shows the state of Walters mind.

It does delve a little bit more into the relationship between Walter and Jesse, but I honestly found the episode boring for the most part. It probably had something to do with the previous episode having some sort of cliff hanger and it not being explained the following week though!

No doubt it was uncomfortable, and it’s only afterwards that I really appreciated the cleverness of the episode

That was an odd episode that was more appreciated in retrospect for me. There are so many scences like that (not whole episodes like this) throughout the series. Many become even more brilliant during Better Call Saul. If I would have been watching BB when it was aired and not binging it after it was over, I would probably have really disliked the episode.

It's painful enough BCS season 4 ended 10 months ago, and it's going to be another 5+ months minimum before season 5. *Twitch*

Cool I’ll get through breaking bad then crack on

Give yourself a break ( ;) ) between them both so you can savour BBs greatness.

Slow start but ends up being brilliant

This.

From the start, you know how it's going to end - where Breaking Bad starts. But the build to that point, with the gradual introduction and development of the characters that are central in Breaking Bad is superb.

‘The Boys’ on Amazon Prime is brilliant - 4 episodes in and I highly recommend it.

Josh keeps banging on about that, he's watched the whole series in a couple of days.

The 1980's called, and I finally got around to Reilly, Ace of Spies this week.

Anything that sends me digging thru my old college history books or googling events from 100+ years ago that I only had passing knowledge of, is good TV.

Just finished it too - 4 days for me. It was excellent and I’m not a superhero fan - another series coming in 2020 👍🏼

Going to take a breather like peeps have advised. Peaky fucking blinders double bill this week🙂

Breaks are for the weak, and those that missed preseason training!

Peaky Blinders is next when I finish MI-5/Spooks

Apparently loads of big names are going to be in it for the last two series. Stephen graham who is a British star but there’s talk of Julia Roberts and a few others

Excited for this one. The series has to end in tragedy, no?

altered carbon on netflix was pretty good Sci-Fi if you dig that thing, @Matt have you given it a shot yet?  anyone else into sci-fi?

Yeah, and it started well but became too obvious. Shame, it had massive potential

The break is to absorb what happens. The reason BB is my favourite show isn’t because its a watch and enjoy title. It needs reflection to truly appreciate it

I still think BCS is better (as I've said before) because there are no weaknesses imo while there are several poor performances among the supporting cast in BB, even though it's a superb piece of work overall.

BB was great. You had a feeling, eventually, where the conclusion of characters were heading (with some surprises) as the writers begin to narrow the character's options, but it was still fantastic television.

In BCS, you know EXACTLY what happens to most of the characters we meet, and it's a trainwreck.  But the fact that the writers keep you so riveted to see the series of events from seemingly divergent character, that lead to the trainwreck...and all the "ah, that explains" moments. It remains to be seen if BCS could be a "stand alone" series, but for me it has surpassed BB, which is a phenomenal feat.

And depending on what they do with the final couple of seasons, there is certainly the opportunity for a third installment. Maybe on Gene, maybe Jessie who knows.

I think I’m gonna start Bcs tommorow. I miss the characters already

I'm prepared for the hate, but my all-time favorite show ahead of BB is LOST. BB is a close second though.

I enjoyed Lost a lot despite the dubious ending, wouldn't put it on a level with BB though. Hell I enjoyed Prison Break even though it had ridiculous story lines and cardboard acting and I've never watched Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire or Peaky Blinders so what do I know? Apparently Friends is still the most streamed show on Netflix but I thought it was total cack!

Each to their own.

I'm one of the few that thought the ending was great. There was only one season that didn't really make sense or contribute to the story, but the other seasons completely made up for it. And even though that one season didn't make much sense, it was still entertaining. I love the characters in that show.

Think I may revisit it; I've just finished watching BCS again in preparation for series five and I'm still watching Northern Exposure but Lost could live alongside that. Oh, and I do sometimes do things that don't involve watching my laptop:unsure:.

Just seen a trailer for a series with Keifer Sutherland in. He becomes the president after a bomb wipes the whole cabinet out. Looks quite good

I've seen that too. Definitely want to watch it.

Designated Survivor, series one great (because it's pretty much all handling the fallout from the bomb), series two not bad (but stretched and bitty while everything that can go wrong does), three (which is pretty much about him standing for a second term while the series two global calamities continue) I've given up on a little bit but I'll probably get back to it.

Should mention that the first two were done by ABC and Netflix picked up the third and the 'merican audience were outraged by the increase in "cussing" and a gay relationship (totally non-explicit). Worth a look certainly.
