Dwight McNeil

The goal at Goodison was enough to get my attention, but from that second video it’s definitely not a one off.
I love his technique when he crosses from the right to the back post, and his crosses from the left into the six yard box look like a defenders nightmare.
He would be really exciting!

Matador  you copy pasting that from somewhere else?

Does seem to have a good left foot mind you

Haha no that is all me, I am afraid. Matador McNeil has a ring to it.

It just reminds me of a matador in the way shows the ball to the opposition, they dive in and he is knocks it past them and he is away. The goal at Goodison is the prime example. Fortunately he doesnt then go on to throw spears at the opposition player. I imagine that would be a hefty ban!

This could be on, SSN just been talking to Shaun Dyche and he was saying he's on the lookout for wide players, interviewer asked about McNeil leaving and he just said he needs more cover out wide.

I might be reading a bit too much but if we can get him and Dumphries I would be very happy.

For me Shaun Dyche and Burnley don't seem the sort to stand in a players way if a better offer comes in.

McNeil is likely going to offer them funds to strengthen in a couple of areas.   Jon Jo Kenny the other way too maybe.

I’ve watched a lot of him last season and the latter half of the season before. He’s exactly what we need. He can play left, right and centrally. Look at his assists for wood last season. He would be great for Dom and richy. Swap deals rarely happen these days but Kenny, delph etc would be a decent makeweight. I’d be astonished if he went for £35 mill tho. Be nearer £45 mill

Why do we always assume other teams want the players that we don’t? Whenever a cast off from Man United or Chelsea is rumoured it’s “No thanks” but then we seem to believe other teams will surely want Delph etc..

It's hope rather than expectation.

Ok watching this guy first half…. We NEED to sign him. The guy is tearing Liverpool apart. He isn’t going to be there for long.

Class again today… still think we’ll be in for him before the close of the window as an alternative to Diaz.

Probably a good thing this deal never happened.  Has not scored this season.  His last goal of course was against us in March 2021.  We do seem to buy players who score goals against us.  Would explain some of our transfers for sure.

Oh well done mate…. You taking the piss?!

do me a favour, when a player who we don’t want to score is playing…. Try not to say he’s shit.

Hugely over rated. Massive bullet dodged not getting him.

I am really surprised he isn't starting.

He improved Burnley when he came on against us and after only a few minutes of coming on against Norwich he won the ball and set up a huge chance for Cornet to make it 1-1.

I think he is a really solid player who has the look of someone who might have just stayed at a club for a season too long. He isn't someone we need anymore because of the players we have in his position but I think he would be a good buy at the right price.

He's never going to be available at the right price though. He's a run of the mill player but you'll have to pay a premium for him and he's just not worth it.

Michael Keane came from Burnley, right? Did the two play together at that time?

Not sure what that would have to do with his ability as a player.
Michael Keane has also played along side a World Cup golden boot winner and Brazils current number 9.

It has nothing at all to do with his ability as player. :) I was thinking that maybe Michael Keane could pass along his thoughts on a former teammate, that's all.
