No way for me. I’m all for experience and players that can jump in and make a difference. But all he would be doing at this stage of his career... is providing cover. I would rather spend the wage on a player that can provide cover, and possibly progress.4 points -

It’s what brought me to the club in a sense. Outside the big boys and a club that tried to do things the right way. I loved it that we spent nothing but fought and competed. It’s sad we didn’t win a trophy - I think that’s down to Moyes and not our squad. End of - I’m proud of this club and we seem to pioneer community actions for clubs. Long may it continue.4 points

Just went through this thread from the beginning. I didn't do any journaling when all of this started to spiral, and I'll always regret that. But you never know the severity of something, or the long-lasting impact it'll have, when it's first starting out. It's nice to have a documented timeline of how things went down, so I'm glad we have this preserved.2 points -
As they are part of Britain the "empire" (not that any such thing has existed in any form since 1997, 1984 if you don't count Hong Kong) would "belong" to them as much as England so they can't be free from themselves. And they had a referendum about leaving the UK just six years ago and decided not to 55.3% to 44.7%, so your colourful language hinting at poor Scots unwillingly labouring under the "British" yoke doesn't really hold up. If they wanted independence they'd have it already.2 points

I understand however I only really got into football at about 14 ( come from a rugby only family so my father was devastated ) and I didn’t want to follow a cliche top 4 team because I felt everyone over here did. Cahill played a huge part but the ethics of this club is what I loved and still do.2 points -
I’m just getting cynical in this lockdown Matt 😂 It’s the whole being so nice and not a threat to anyone, being peoples second team, that kind of thing. I’d rather other teams fans be fearful. I want the club to be honourable, I love the work done by EITC, it’s massive and should be applauded, the way the club treats ex players, and the way the club looks after the fans. Can have morals and be a good club without a bit of a cheesy sound bite. We were still a great club for the 100+ years before Moyes said that. A club can also be successful and have a soul. Why be mutually exclus2 points

If you were to do the decent thing and donate your seat to a deserving person (mentioning no names) lots of people would say nice things about you @StevO and @Hafnia would slag you off big time though2 points -

Because of the "relaxing" of the rules over Christmas (which I think and hope will be back-tracked on) I got a text from one of my daughters this morning inviting me to a "do" at her house on the 27th. Three daughters plus partners and nine kids, crazy. They're not stupid (normally) but I guess feel detached as we've got off so lightly down here (so far). Needless to say I won't be going, even if I wasn't classed as highly vulnerable I wouldn't. Daft because I've seen none of them since I got out of hospital but they seem to think that four day window means all will be fine1 point

Normally it would be a no from me, but when you have won enough trophies to last a lifetime with clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus, with the ultimate prize to boot with Germany then I think we should go along with this. Winning breeds winning, having players around the club that accept nothing less than the best will improve the club as a whole, imagine what the young players could learn from a James or a Khedira? For the right price, a big yes from me. In fact, if Delph is on £100,000 a week send him off to Leeds on a free and give the money to Sami.1 point

He couldn't the past 3 seasons, why now when he's soon to be 34? A big no from me. We need more players with future like Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin. Experience is already there in the likes of Allan and James. We are missing players with hunger for glory, enough with the "one last paycheck" seekers.1 point -

I think it’ll be a bit of rude awakening for them if they ever do get to vote on it again and vote for independence. But I fully support them going for it, I’m not arsed about the UK and class myself as English.1 point -

Looks like a toxic club. Players getting sent off needlessly, Arteta I thought would make a good coach and he may well do.... He's won the fa cup I guess but he seems to have a petulance about him. ... We seen that when he returned to Everton with Arsenal. Hope we stuff them.1 point -
They are so far off the team they think they are. Wonder if Gabriel regrets not coming to us at the moment.1 point

I hope we keep him and Richarlison out wide even if James returns to the starting team1 point

Kane as matured into a leader and all round team player, he cares more about the team winning than his own ego, 10 assists is phenomenal most for Son I’m guessing.1 point

Totally agree, I am big fan of rewarding players who put in a stellar performance and come away with all three points, and with a clean sheet to boot. None of the players let themselves or the shirt down on Saturday. So they all did enough last Saturday to deserve a start against Leicester City. This is our first mid week game for some time, so no need to be thinking about rotation or any sort of resting of players just yet. If a player sees that he regains his starting place after both a good personal and team performance - there should be no bigger motivation than this for rolling your1 point

Think Davies has had a rough deal the last few seasons. Been a part of a shit house midfield but he’s looked like more of a leader than most. I think I just want him to do well because he’s from the academy.1 point

Just watching MOTD I'm amazed Elneni didn't get a red as well, I think if Xhaka hadn't already gone he would have. Very poor from the ref.1 point
