Bloody hell, that’s incredible, I’ll name my team of the week, but talk about Liverpool rather than the quality of the players in putting in my team. I wish I could be that shite at work and still get paid!4 points

That's even worse then as it was a clear red according to the rules.4 points

Davies improvement has literally been like a new transfer coming it. He has been Toffeetalks MofM in 4 of the last 5 games and he wasn't to shabby against Liverpool either. This is pretty impressive, as most of us would have been happy to see him go out on loan or even bring in a transfer fee!!!! We all love the James pass (which I think will be remembered for many a year), but Davies pass out of our own penalty area and in to Richarlison was pretty tasty but also brave. Given where it was and we where 0:1 up, he would have been forgiven for just booting it up field. No, he put his head4 points

Also wouldn't have thought it'd be the 12 points dropped at home to Fuham, Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham (and counting) that might well screw us.3 points

There’s nothing wrong with criticism as long as it is justified and based on what you witnessed, but I agree with you that we should be able to praise players for playing well even if we have criticised them on numerous occasions in the past, I wouldn’t say it’s eating your words Rob if at the time you gave an honest opinion, but what you have shown is that you haven’t allowed that to completely cloud your judgment and are prepared to forget that and acknowledge and praise when they have played well.3 points

Is anybody going to have a perfect match? - Its easy very to nit pick at individual incidents whether it be good or bad moments. Also have to remember that in the Premiership week in week out you are playing quality opposition players, the simply truth is they are going to get the better of you on some occasions. Personally, I love nothing more that eating my words when a player I may have criticized in the past starts putting in performances (especially if they are regular) that are worthy of the blue shirt. It's great when I am proved wrong!!! The fact that Davies has been voted3 points -

He looked as happy, and as blown away, as us that we'd actually done it when Sky got him straight after the game. You could tell that he genuinely understood just how massive that win was to the fans. I'm not someone that particularly cares whether the manager gets us or not, but Carlo does. He really does. The way he's embraced the club, the fans, the area, our history... It's not just because he's a fantastic manager, it's more because he's a fantastic man.3 points -

Allan will have no problem. It's Andre Gomes and Gylfi Sigurdsson who should be concerned about a starting spot.2 points -
The most impressive part of that tackle was the amount of ground he covered to get there. He still needs to learn his trade and I don't think playing all across the back line is particularly helping him in the short term (may do in the long run) but he has all the characteristics to be one of the best centre halves in the league.2 points

Which is why I said what you quoted. It’s all just a farce. Im more angry about Starmer being an inept opposition leader than I am about about Hancock sweeping it all under the carpet (you expect it from that slimy toad). How can Starmer misjudge things so spectacularly? No one wants it? Is he actually fucking braindead? Like I’ve said all along: he’s just a Conservative that wears a red tie. He’s done nothing but back them up and that’s why they’re getting away with things even easier. He needs to be reminded that he’s in opposition to them, not in bed with them.2 points -
Michael Keane

I think Keane will go on to be our next captain, as much as Godfrey is on the way too, I would see Keane getting it first and Godfrey taking over later on. Im much more comfortable when Keane is on the pitch than without him.2 points -
One of our most improved players this season, granted it was needed, I was starting to think it wouldn’t happen for him here, however playing under a manager who clearly instills confidence in his players, and seems to know where to play them, Tom sitting in front of the back four seems his best position, he has the vision and ability to make good passes ( still makes some mistakes of course) and is making timely tackles and interceptions, a nice mix of ability with Allan, Doucoure and Gomes. I think it’s also important to have a local lad in the squad.2 points

Doucoure still put in a good shift - standard - but he was sloppy and looked nervous at times. Tom though, wow - such a complete and mature performance. Carlo et al have worked wonders here.2 points

I’ve just given praise to big Mick Keane on his thread, used to cringe when his name came of the team sheet a couple of seasons ago, not now.1 point

Me too, and your right he’s very much improved, I used to cringe when his name was on the team sheet a couple of seasons ago, full credit to him for becoming so reliable.1 point

Spot on, and I only give it out to people who'll take it in that way, plus I'm guilty of it myself at times so quite happy to take it back.1 point

I’m happy with that 👍 But everyone will see things slightly and in some cases completely different, for me he was the most consistent mid out there and has been the last 3 games.1 point

8 ball recoveries and 5 tackles won. 27 passes at 70% Doucoure made 2 tackles against man city, 33 passes at 69%1 point

Not bringing on Allan was great, 10 days to reinforce his recovery/strengthen.1 point

Regardless of his potential improvement into a bonafide team member - and not as a cover for a miss firing or can't be arsed misfit.... Davies will be slagged off by some regardless of what he does It's the same with Pickford, Keane, DCL .... Because someone makes a decision that they "are shit" 3 years ago - they can't be fluid with their opinions. Players can improve their games if they have the right mindset. I'm not saying Davies will become a 11km 25kph running machine like Doucoure who can bounce players off the ball or DCL will suddenly start hitting 30 yarders. As long as1 point

This is another must win for us, they all are now if we want Europe next season. We must make Goodison a fortress again. Couple of early goals and we can relax, a bit. A very winnable game, which makes me nervous, but with Carlo and this squad I have faith.1 point -

Yesterday's euphoria left me unable to comment. Congratulations to everyone here, we deserve this. Last season Pickford earned the criticism he received, and this year he has earned the praise he is getting. He was world class yesterday. He deserves his place in the team. 10/10: Pickford, Keane, Godfrey, Davies 9/10: Coleman, Digne, Holgate, Richarlison 8/10: James, Doucoure 7/10: Gomes Obviously we all hope this win gives us the confidence we need to a) win more derbies and b) spur us on in the coming weeks. It was awesome to see what it mean to the players. I1 point -

Wasn't perfect today, but was still pretty damn impressive. And as @Gwlad all over and @Wiggytopmentioned, you could tell he understands how much that win meant to the club and the fans. James, Allan and Doucoure have been great signings, but he's the signing of the year for me. You can just feel his passion for the game and he's incredibly gifted, both physically and technically. Hope to see him in blue for years and years to come.1 point -

The spotlight was on him for this game he never let it phase him at all, in fact the opposite he put in a massive performance to prove he has nerves of steel as well as quality.1 point

Considering the shit he had in the reverse fixture I was worried about Jordan playing (and was hoping we'd pick Olsen). He was outstanding tonight and didn't put a foot wrong. They didn't have that many chances, but the save from Salah when he managed to squeeze past Digne was brilliant and then the save from Wijnaldum in injury time was massive as had he scored we would have been in for a nervous ending. The touch around the post in the first half too (can't remember who shot) was magnificent too. His authority in the air was brilliant also, caught everything that he needed to and didn't1 point
