  1. Giakoumakis, 3M from Celtic goalscorer that is big and strong, similar profile to Calvert Lewin. Not as technically good. Mad for Everton not to go for him. Only leaving as he wants a bugger salary, likely to be 20K! Perfect to compete with Calvert Lewin (likely do a better job) and would be great for the championship to! No doubt not even on Everton’s radar.
  2. The man Everton should be going for. What are Celtic fans saying about Ange Postecoglu? “Grabbed the club by the scruff of the neck and pulled them in his direction by sheer will.. Love the Big Man, what a guy..” —-“Still don’t think he’s had enough credit for winning a trophy only a few months after inheriting a * show imagine if slippy had won league cup in his first season the media would have been in a frenzy about it fir months afterwards “ —- “Yes, it's time to move on from 'I told you so's" and 'egg on face' and 'humble pie' etc The * response to Ange's appointment was entirely understandable given the timing and all that had a gone before. A couple of additional points: There are quite a number of positives that flow from Ange being unknown and coming from non European football management background... He has had to manage on much smaller budgets and so, as he is beginning to demonstrate, he can spot a player bargain. All of the signings so far this window have real potential to substantially increase their value while at Celtic. His 'buy low/sell high' approach is likely to net Celtic big transfer sums in the future He has had to manage with much less in the way of backroom staff so he is more used to doing a lot of things himself. He seems to have his hands on a lot of levers at present, and the Board, to their credit, now seem willing to support him. That will probably change over time.
  3. Rooney is a day, week, month away from another controversy for another stupid off field decision. He could lead a culture change at Everton, but I feel at some point he will fall off the wagon and the playing group culture and commitment levels could fracture with it. On top of this, any manager should need to prove they can create a successful, trophy winning brand of football before they touch the Everton job. That doesn't need to be in a top 5 league, but success as a manager should be a pre-requisite.
  4. Everton has picked managers that have been relegated twice, Aston Villa just gave the reigns to an ex SPL manager with 2 years managing experience, there are plenty, plenty of examples of managers that haven't managed at a top 5 league coming into the Premier League. Our experienced managers approach is not proving to be successful....
  5. I still haven't seen him work out how to set up a team to win (without individual brilliance) against team with low defensive blocks, the same thing he never worked out with Everton. The Belgium team have struggled in tournaments against teams that don't give opportunties to counter attack. I'm sure he has grown and adapated as a manager, and may actually practive set pieces these days.... but not sure he's the man for the job. I'm still voting for big Ange Postecoglu! https://youtu.be/wVbJlxkI1lw https://youtu.be/wVbJlxkI1lw
  6. No he hasn’t, and yes it would. But he is extremely experienced now, and won trophies at every club he has managed. Celtic fans thought the same thing ‘he’s not at this level’. There fans would be extremely, extremely upset to loose him with the job he’s done and the football they are playing in 6 months. Ange plays a 4-3-3 (mainly) with a pressing from the front defending high, possession based game and is great at improving squads and knows talent and value in the transfer market. Entertaining football that wins trophies, and players enjoy playing for him, wherever he has managed.
  7. Ange Postecoglu who is at Celtic on a 1 year deal (6 months remaining). Playing entertaining winning football, won every trophy he’s had the opportunity to with the club so far. Celtic will definitely try and extend his contract, Everton should swoop in for him.
  8. Why is Rafa not blooding Simms instead of this useless blob
  9. Wish we got Ange Postecoglou rather than this man. At minimum, our team would have a go. Unwatchable.
  10. Had a terrible year last year, along with most the Celtic team. Having watched Celtic a bit this year because of there new Aussie manager. Kyogo Furuashi who they’ve just brought from the J league looks the much sharper, more dynamic player up top.
  11. Ange Postecoglu starting to get a winning brand of football implemented at Celtic after a few weeks. Still think he is a manager we should be keeping an eye on, once Rafa’s contract has run its course…
  12. Is Conte still available? Throw a few of Usamov’s kitchen sinks at him. Also put Joachim Löw on the list of blank cheque offers. Or perhaps a swap deal to be announced as we welcome Zidane to Everton.
  13. Carlo to Real Madrid, the only upside is a potential big fee. I hope not.
  14. I wouldn’t sell, if he’s keen to stay sign him up long term. Bring in other strikers to play along side him or compete with him definitely. He is showing that he could be a 20-30 goal a season player for the next 10 years, and hasn’t seemed to of hit his peak yet. Low injury record. Even if he keeps his current level, and doesn’t get ‘better’, he would still be an player to keep, because he has huge assets to his game that can be important in ‘different situations’ as the Don would say. Nothing but upside, hopefully will be part of the squad long term.
  15. Aston Villa missing Watkins with a 1 match ban. That helps.
  16. Positive to have continuity in his role and the managers. All the ingredients to continue to build toward something special over the next 3 years.
  17. When it was clicking with Martinez in his first season, we would see out games by not giving the ball back to the opposition, it was a joy to watch at times. Now we employ block, and it terrifies me!
  18. His finishing has improved dramatically this season, he use to miss the target with a lot of the headers that came his way, now a real threat in our box. We can thank the broad aerial threat across the team for a lot of points this season.
  19. A few online outlets are rumouring a loan deal for Zirkzee, kid wants to play. 19yo Bayern Munich striker. Nice backup option to DCL potentially.
  20. Didn’t have a bad game against West Ham, but he deflected / blocked a shot straight to an opposition player for there goal. I have seen him do this many times this season, blocks or deflections that go straight to a dangerous position (Salah’s goal is a standout, but there is more). Not good enough at this level to repeat the mistake like he is.
  21. Along with Allan, made the Whoscored XI of best new signings in the premier league. Allan was the signing Everton desperately needed by James Rodriguez's move from Real Madrid to Goodison Park was certainly the most eye-catching. In fact, it's arguably one of the most remarkable transfers in Premier League history. Rodriguez was an instant hit with the Everton fans and has six goal involvements in his first 10 league appearances. Of players to have started more than five league games this season, only Kevin De Bruyne (one every 101.2 minutes) is creating a clear-cut opportunity more frequently than Rodriguez (every 120.7 mins). https://www.whoscored.com/Articles/xgVnUJlqiEGkUCgIi1KHzg/Show/Chelseas-Thiago-Silva-makes-best-new-signings-Premier-League-XI
  22. If Everton is going to make champions league, it’s with James. Back this man 100% through the good games and bad. “James Rodriguez is in good condition. He had a problem as everyone knows, this week he trained well and properly. “We have to consider that for this player to travel around the world to play international games, and the fact that he - and all the other internationals - to be here until March will be good for him.
  23. The disparity in global pricing makes it hard to swallow in the UK I imagine. In Australia, I get every match streamed live, and on demand for the next week, free with my Optus mobile phone plan. Or I could purchase it for $14.99 per month or annually for $139. I’m sure there’s similar deals in many countries.
  24. Scored for Brazil in a 4-2 World Cup qualifier over Peru today. Played 90mins. Played his role in the first half on the wide right of a front 3, and an excellent second half mainly playing centrally. The best part, he tapped in on the goal line to take the goal from his team mate... Firmino to level the scores at 2-2... Started the third, with a clearance from a corner, receiving the ball at the half way line, and playing a cross field through ball to send Everton with a run toward goal, ending in a penalty for a push. Had a Peru player sent off for an elbow shortly after. Some player he is.
