  1. Perhaps I took it the wrong way, but it does go on Mike, some of the remarks can seem very snide. Take into account how it looks to a newcomer sometimes . A persons, grammar should never matter in context with the fact they are Everton fans. This thread just touched a nerve with me I suppose.
  2. Fuck me, Toffee talk becomes University Challenge. People making mistakes with grammar are not doing it on purpose they don't know they are doing it. Be a nice change if people were not judged on their grammar. The only thing that matters is a shared love of Everton. Make people welcome, who is so fucking perfect on here anyway.. I for one am glad im not. some folk act so superior. Its not welcoming, its not polite, it embarrasses the mistake maker ( I Should know ). These people are your fellow Evertonians so treat them as friends. Far too much of the this grammar worrying crap goes on on Toffee Talk. It makes the site seem snobby and a clique. I just ask that people are made more welcome. Try it, it wont hurt anyone.
  3. What a weekend ! Great win for us, the shite lose and the gobshites are nearly cutting their wrists over it and to top it off Moyes and his mighty ( ha ha ) club get bollocked and Fellaini has a stinker. The poetic justice of it all. Sweet !!
  4. Always has been, always will be, which makes it all the sweeter when Everton piss on their chips.
  5. Fantastic blue boys, what a 2nd half. Credit to RM he didn't fuck about, he saw what was needed and sorted it. The difference in our tempo, approach, control were superb. Leighton Baines you are god I love you, 1 screamer, 1 precision to perfection. Kevin Mirallas was great today and he was the 1 who stood out for 90 minutes, and even after Nolan,s played for penalty to make it 2-1 I still thought we would come back. And Lukaku what bravery our instant new hero, strong great link up play a clever striker. Nice to see Oviedo get in the game game. A great win so happy and bloody good football to boot. And just when you thought a great day could,nt get better Liverpool 0 Southampton 1. Thanks blues for making my weekend again. God I love this fucking wonderful club that is EVERTON !!!!!!!!!!!
  6. We have,nt turned up yet, very slapdash and you cant constantly rely on a 19 year old to carry the the game. Ross been caught in possession a lot, but the whole team been very lapse. Mirallas the only one to emerge with any credit so far. West Ham have pressed high up, and standing off Matt Jarvis is inviting trouble. I want to see Deulofeu and Lukaku on asap' The bright side, surely we wont be that poor 2nd haff.
  7. Today I spent nearly an hour putting together what I thought was a very good subject about our poor commercial dept. Tried to post it, and it said SORRY YOU DONT HAVE AUTHORITY TO DO THAT or something like that. What does this mean, why does it happen and how the hell can I make a point if its a topic not started, where could I make a new point.. To whoever controls the site, this is driving me nuts, and ive just lost another post that I put a lot of time and thought into, that might have been of interest and a good discussion. Im really pissed off.
  8. No matter what we may think of it every club brings out 3 new strips every season But compare how Everton kits come out in relation to other clubs. Our new home top is usually end of July, the away kit end of August, the third strip has just been launched. Now look at other clubs ie Chelsea and Liverpool. Their 3 new strips come out at the end of may, sometimes worn in the final home match of the season. Point is these clubs have more or less a 3 month start on Everton when it comes to kit sales and the fans have the summer to wear their kits. Why does our commercial dept buck their ideas up ? Cant they see we are losing thousands by releasing our kits so late, where is the business acumen its bizarre logic. By the time our 3rd kit comes out its mid September and bearing in mind the strips are only for a season they are more or less out of date in 9 months. So why the hell cant Our new strips all 3 of them be available end of May and bring the club much needed extra merchandise sales ? Is it only me who thinks this is bloody nonsense. Also that crap deal with kitbag means you don't see Everton kits in any sports shops ( You wont see them down south, at least I have,nt) so what a senseless team up the kitbag thing is. I have always thought our commercial side is appalling for a premier league club and every may when my Liverpool supporting mates wear all there new strips for all the summer it makes you realise how poxy our lot are. Our club needs the revenue needs the whole summer of sales so why does our strips continue to be the last ones out ? Its my opinion that our whole commercial side needs a clear out and fresh ideas brought in, it would be interesting to see how many of you agree.
  9. We have as good a chance as anybody, luck of the draw, form on the day its basically how long is a piece of string its such a lottery, hope RM takes the cups as serious as we do. The European entry does,nt enter my head. A footballers career is judged on honours won not European qualification. And as for Wigan the game that cost Wigan their status was v Swansea, They were 2-1 up playing lovely stuff, then gave away 2 of the silliest goals ever seen in a barmy game to lose 2-3. That night had to be seen to be believed. If they had won they would have been safe before the emirates game..
  10. Over rated, American Football a crap sport where the play stops every 5 seconds ( hut, hut, hut) And ditto the shit films made about any of America,s 2 big sports Football and Baseball. And over melodramatic machismo with emotion shit like Friday Night Lights.
  11. Moyes never seemed to rate Ross Barkley, at least that's the impression I got. It took more of a manager from a pure footballing sense in Martinez to give Ross the chance. As for the press story, massive pinch of salt, the lad is just starting out, no matter how rapid the progress
  12. Cant wait for this game, we always do well there even when we were,nt at our best. We seem to have a hoodoo on them like the redshite do on us. West Ham have tightened up considerably, 1 defeat 1 goal conceded against the perennial hard to beat Stoke City. The Lukaku factor alone fuels the expectation but you know our Everton, learned to expect the unexpected. I loathe to predict Everton wins ( just makes me uneasy) but I do feel the lads should do well in the next 3 games and that's trying to look with a neutral head on ( Not my fanatical Blue one). The squad looks strong, the competition the best ive seen in an age, and RM continues to impress me. Im starting to get a buzz of pure excitement I have not had for years. Fulham in the cup another intriguing fixture. We seem to be getting things right, it will be gradual but the promise is there, and I for one now cant wait for our games.
  13. On the whole of Toffee Talk, Im the member who has,nt a clue about Computers. You all seem shit hot at it. I can just about do my posts.
  14. Pleased you enjoyed yourself Gilles and are planning to come again.
  15. So Gilles, How was your trip to Goodison, be interesting to hear how your day went and your opinion. Post and let us know. Always keen to hear other peoples views on Everton.
  16. Phil Neville proved me wrong, Darron Gibson Proved me wrong, and now Gareth Barry will prove me wrong. Oh long may I continue to be wrong on Everton signings.
  17. Mr D Kane. Loved the point you made about Moyes and how he could,nt win at the big grounds. Very funny and spot on. He was a negative git on times. Every time we went to those grounds under Moyes we knew what would happen, the only exception the Incredible 4-4. But if that game had of been played in say August or December he would have gone for a 0-0. The infamous Anfield 3-0 surrender in my opion the most shameful.
  18. What a difference an Everton win Makes to a weekend, I can watch Match of the Day for a start ( if we lose I cant) everything just seems better. Its great that RM has so many selection options, cant remember the last time we had such great competition for places. Look at midfield Barry, Barkley, McCarthy, Gibson, Osman(surely he will buck up) what a headache of choice to have . Our defence is as good as any, although they did allow Chelsea too much space yesterday, they will know this on reflection. And once Alcaraz is fit we,ll see what he has to offer. On the flanks I think its great if true that Gerard Deulofeu thinks he should be always in the starting 11, I admire that confidence and self belief. Add pienaar, Mirallas,Naismith, Oviedo and the contribution of Coleman and Baines as full backs come wingers and again its very healthy. Up front when is the last time we have looked forward to a debut as much as Romelu Lukaku ? Relishing the thought now if Jela could find his form and Kone look the player we know he can be its all good. Plus Velios another lad we want to see more of. I hope Velios, Deulofio , McCarthy and Oviedo start at Fulham in the cup. This cup is damn important to me, but we must get a competitive look at these lads and I think its the competition to do it. One great result is not clouding my judgement I just think that at the moment Everton Football club is in a very good place. Im excited in a way that I have,nt been for years under Moyes. Roberto Martinez for all his gentleman exterior has the balls to stick to his principles and so far I have nothing negative to say about him. This is going to be our most interesting season in years because Basically we don't know what to expect. The whole club from manager, to players to fans are on this journey, and I am very glad to ride with it.
  19. It has to be Gareth Barry what an accomplished debut. All around the effort was superb and Steven Naismith after all the stick ( and each and every one of us has slaughtered him) deserved his ovation when subbed. To those saying Naismith didn't deserve any votes I,d say one thing. The man does not hide. He got a chance from the start and applied himself very well, surely if can get some confidence its better for us all.
  20. Proud of the lads, what a team effort. It would be an injustice to single 1 player out. Magnificent all over the pitch, contained a quality side. And Gareth Barry ( Had my doubts, But will be delighted to be wrong) Thanks Blue Boys very much, I can enjoy my Saturday. And a certain new striker at West Ham next. Happy Birthday Mr Naismith, Keep up that effort and u,ll win people around. Everton 1 Chelsea 0. Yeah nice aint it. now Match of the day.
  21. Sterling defence from our lads, what a difference when Mirallas gets involved, nice to Naismith given an ovation. Come on boys, please and pretty please hold on.
  22. No nails left to bite, composure blues please !!
  23. Gareth Barry can read a football match that's for sure, very impressed with him and I was a doubter. Sad to see Ossie,s demise but he isn't contributing, Gerard could open them up. Pleased but no way cocky more hard work to come. still allowing to much room in the final third. COYB.
  24. Oh yes come on , fucking come on and The much maligned Birthday boy to boot. Have to be happy, cos we could have been behind. McCarthy for Ossie asap.
