Agree with all of that Bailey. We had a really good spell leading up to the goal and then were crap for the rest of the game. I like Moyes but think he deserves criticism for this performance - tactics/lack of response in the 2nd half = poor.

I thought Osman had a good first half but was absent second. I was worried when they announced Coleman was coming on, tv cut to him and he looked lost on the sidelines - overawed - didn't inspire much confidence.

Has anyone seen Joey play defensive midfield or think he is capable of stepping into that role? I think he would do a good job and allow a jags/joleon central defensive partnership.

Too much of a gamble for me, what if we dont get fourth by foregoing UEFA Cup due to poor form/injuries? We need experience playing in European matches whatever the competition. Also potential transfer targets who could be lured to Everton due to European matches will be lost.

Yeah apparenty Wyness' offer to fly him to Kirby in a Sopwith Camel didnt cut the mustard. Seriously though weve got a number of good young guys for the future, while its always good to pick them up where possible, im happy if we spend a bit on a couple of players ready to hit the ground running.

Sure Fernandes has gone and its not worth worrying about him now and blah blah blah...........but how many times do we need to see these things happen? Kings Dock, Rooney, Sissoko, Riquelme, Fernandes......I am sick to my stomach at having hopes raised and then feeling shattered when things fall through. I can see the next disappointment just around the corner.......Arteta leaving in the summer.....and who would blame him!! I hope you're listening Kenwright, Wyness & Moyes.........do something!!

I would defo. pay 12 mill - i assume this would include all add-ons etc . I dont think it would be up front 12 - maybe 10. Getting players of this class and calibre sends a message to other potentials. We have had problems attracting class players and these kind of signings are positive in more than just one way. We need to hold onto Arteta, Cahill, AJ, Yobo, Lescott though. I dont want to see us pick up one class player and let another go - this doesnt equal forward progress in my book.

I read somewhere that Moyes is building Everton by adding two better (than current option)players each summer. I would expect the club to spend around 16 mil this summer. As long as we can hold our current list, i would be happy to spend 12 on Fernandez and 4 on a left back. If we sell Beattie, Pistone and VDM (6mill?) and pick up Nugent (4) and someone else from the lowers - i would be happy.

I like Schwartzer, im biased because im an Aussie, but if you saw his performance in the penalty shootout that secured us a World Cup spot you would know why, his one hander diving full stretch to his left was an absolute gem.....class keeper and i for one would be happy if we signed him.

Can Dacourt play on the right? I think i would prefer to see him in the squad than Davies, TBH he hasnt really done much has he? Although i do realise we are in urgent need of a legit. striking option first.

Just in case you thought the 'has been' stiker comment in my last post was in relation to Dacourt, it was directed at Sutton. Arteta Dacourt Cahill VDM..........sound like a good mid. to me.

Dacourt was good first time around but smells like another journeyman who cant find a home ala Rob Keane. Hmmmm, i guess, I wouldnt knock him back, has a nice touch. and since we have been looking at old has been (or never were) strikers.........what is Mickael Mader doing these days, geez he was a workaholic??

I dont think we would spend the money on him. Another injury prone player is just what we need I think with the window fast approaching the media are fishing for an article and the fact he was linked once before gives them a chance to write a few lines. Dont want him, i agree with EvertonLad, add the 2 mil ontop of what is set aside for a striker and buy a class stiking option.

Cheers for the welcome toffee. I am not against RK but am pretty worried that we seem to be hoping a journeyman will be our saviour. We need to think much bigger, surely we still have some cash that can be spent, i am of the opinion that we need to spend to get a real class act to capitalise on the good work being done in midfield by the likes of Arteta and co. Having said that im not too sure who that would be, but i think in the past we have been guilty of not aiming high enough. Of the current debate, personally i would prefer AJ over RK soley for his workrate and high tempo which i think would suit our current side. I would however prefer we splashed out an extra $4-5m on top of the money rumoured for AJ/RK and got someone else. We dont need another striker of the same approximate class as our current crop, we need someone far better. What do you guys think............aim higher??

Hi guys, this is my first post but have been reading these boards for awhile. In regard to a certain Robbie Keane. I have seen him play some good matches and obviously he is rated highly, but is he that good? It seems he has been around the block a few times and i just feel that if he cant make it stick at one club, maybe there is something we dont know about him. Perhaps he doesnt give it 100%?? Why else would so many clubs pick him up and then seem happy to pass him on/get rid of him. I know alot of you guys want him in quick smart but........im not too sure about him. Can someone convince me.
