AlbanyNYToffee reacted to RuffRob in Board/Owners Related Stuff
The stadium was always going to be built on debt - so to that effect is always going to be an ongoing cost as part of a normal operational costs. In a way its not overly important where that money comes from, just that it comes in a timly manner to get it finished and as long as interest rates are not to high. It's going to be our home for a long time. We will have to pay interest or rent as part of any lease. In a way the most important thing for Everton is to always remain a premier league club - this single thing will dwalf any difference financially between paying interest or a lease for using the new stadium.
At this point in time nobody is going to come in and asset strip the club - Stadium is all debt and no equity at the moment as its not even finish and selling asset such as the players will only get us relegated - so any purchaser of the club would loose money hand over fist if that happen.
I imagine buying a football club means you are actually buying a lot of goodwill as opposed to saleable tangible assets to enable a quick buck. What you do with this goodwill is key.
For any investers in a badly run football club, the simplest and best way to make money would be to run it better both on and off the pitch - increasing the overall value and turnover of Everton FC and selling it on as a club in a better position than when you bought it.
Are 777 capable of doing this? we shall see.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Goodison Glory in Board/Owners Related Stuff
Sorry but I need to call bullshit.
First of all 777 only own less than 20% of Sevilla. They finished 4th in La Liga last season.
Standard Liege finished 14th the year before 777 took over. They finished 6th under 777 ownership.
As for Genoa, yes they got relegated but then promoted immediately. They are mid table right now with more points than Roma and 1 point behind Lazio....but cmon we are taking 3 games into the season so it's pointless referencing current league positions.
For Hertha, they only took over in March so not sure we can pin relegation on them.....more likely a stupid decision to sell at such a stage in the season. That said they've started woefully in the 2nd tier so 777 fingerprints are all over that one.
I am as nervous as you all about this but the "everything they touch turns to shit" narrative is a bit much.

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to StevO in Sean Dyche
We made about 400% profit on a player who doesn’t want to be here. There is a reason we could buy him for less than £2m in the first place.
The problem is anyone who doesn’t think we got a good deal. We are financially fucked and £8m will help a lot!

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Matt in Sean Dyche
No, they won't. There's 38 games to decide a season, still 30 to go after those 4 (think my maths is right ).
This stuff always winds me up, in general I mean, not you specifically Patto. The BBC have become so bad at it now, calling matches as 6 pointers after 2 games. Its just fucking stupid and it's that kind of nonsense that led to us getting the fat twat.
Can we all just give the guy who's not even been here 8 months yet an actual chance please? Change takes years, we've not given a manager that long since Martinez and even then not quite 3 full seasons...
So stop whining and feeding the media machine. We don't have an identity yet? No fucking shit, he's been here less that 8 months and had 1 actual window to make changes. 1!!! "Urgh, it's so boring, we've got no pattern, no identity". Fuck off. Not 1 single manager in the world establishes their identity in 1 window or 8 months, not even Pep and especially not whilst the club is a dumpster fire off the pitch and the relationship between the fans and board is so toxic.
This shit is a large part of the reason we're in the clusterfuck we're in; impatient fans expecting immediate/far too short term change so our clueless, yet very generous owner, goes and chops the manager and we wait another 6 months and a window before running out of patience with the next one.
We need to own our part in this and that starts by being patient. Our league performances, Villa aside, have been very positive vs the past few years. There's a bit of an identity forming if you look close, and the work ethic is so much better. Plus we now have a striker. So please, don't feed the media trolls and take deep breathes this season, because it will be a bumpy ride. But we'll be mid-table by Christmas, reinforce with 1-2 in January and be safe by end of Feb. That's a bloody good improvement and very possible. But not if we feed the media trolls who get Moshiri all flustered into stupid changes.
Come on you fucking Blues

When Michael Keane is a favourite then it’s a big red flag for me

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Romey 1878 in Sean Dyche
It feels like every manager, ever, is said to have his favourites and is stubborn... almost like they're perfectly normal traits for a manager to have.
I think it's a normal thing for anyone to have certain players that they feel they can rely on and will put more trust into picking them. I think it's just a human thing tbh.
-
AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Romey 1878 in Wilfried Gnonto
I think the biggest problem with us trying to get Gnonto was the structure of the deal, rather than the overall fee. So if we sell Iwobi and/or Gray, that should allow us to offer better terms.

He's not good enough though. Partner or no partner. Poor signing and needs to leave.

Feel compelled to remind everyone tonight is the incoming deadline. Still quite a few leagues we could send our castaways to after tonight. Don’t lose hope if Gomes/Gbamin/Gray are still here.

One assist and he’s our answer. Got to love Evertonians.
You should all be concentrating on our 30 goal a season striker that will carry us to the champions league.

That's being very optimistic and far too good for it to happen

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Romey 1878 in Summer news for 23/24 season - kits/friendlies/fixtures
I loved the other two kits for this season but I do not like the third shirt at all. It looks cheap and nasty.
I'll be ordering it shortly .

Billionaires run their businesses very professionally, hiring people to do the bits they can’t do them selves.
Then they have a hobby, and want to do the fun stuff themselves. Like signing players and showing their faces when things go well.
Unfortunately, most hobbyists aren’t very good at it. These guys are no different.
No one feels sorry for me when I miss a two foot putt, don’t feel sorry for a billionaire for messing up his hobby too.

the stats are overwhelming in the fact that Keane negatively impacts us.

No..?
OK

AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Boston Toffee in Che Adams
If it has to be I'll take Che. Better option than Maupay. If Dom goes down I'd rather Che over Neal.. if Dom stays healthy then we will be fine. But of course it's a big if.
-
AlbanyNYToffee reacted to Hafnia in Che Adams
Che Adams is not being bought as a goalscorer. Judging him by his goals isn’t the way to look at him. Dcl was brilliant for us vs Brighton and didn’t score 5 goals.
I always rated Danny wellbeck, he’s been crucial to brightons success and it’s not because of his goals. Having a forward who can lead the line will improve the teams goals. Maupay can’t lead the line.
