Dortmund have changed managers several times, yet keep doing well. This whole idea managers sign players is a British thing. Clubs in continent have always had a head coach rather than a manager. They don't necessarily have a DoF, could be a bunch of people making the decisions. But the idea that the same guy who coaches players also signs them is a bit alien.

Barca also need to resign Messi. They are in deep trouble at the moment.

Couldn't organize a defense either and on top of that after the first season couldn't organize an attack either. People seem to forget how boring his tiki-taka was. Endlessly passing the ball back and sideways with zero penetration or urgency. Fans absolutely hated that and the "that was a magnificient game" after every dross match. Potter would be a risk. How would he work with better players? Did he just strike lucky with a few good signings? I don't think his squad is that bad, especially midfield but defense also has some decent players. Still 100x better than the first two options. Benitez can just fuck off. As can Moyes. Erik ten Hag might be great or might be the next Frank de Boer or Philip Cocu. Dutch League is a tree-horse race and ten Hag's greatest accomplishment came from having some of the greatest talents in Europe in his squad at the time. Hard to tell but way better choice than anyone above. Paulo Fonseca is available but seems to get most interest from Wolves. Bit of a mixed bag. Great with Shaktar but more mixed results in Serie A. Good run in the Europa League but domestically so-so. Apparently Moshiri interviewed him before choosing Silva so might not even be in the running this time. NES seems to reliant on Mendes. Looked great at some point but this season was poor.

I'm not too keen on him because of age and costs but it should be obvious to anyone what the attraction is. You can list your wonderkids from French 2nd division all you want but they will take time to adjust and might never make it in PL.

Spanish sources say they want 25m€. Still, would make a lot of sense. Great dribbler, great footballing IQ (by god our team could use some of that), pacy, creative, good age. Last season was ot the best of seasons for him which also impacts his price.

Consider the players he's been playing with as well. And finding a winger who guarantees 10+ goals is pretty hard.

He's scored 41 and assisted 32 goals in the past 5 seasons. We already know he's a good PL player. Arsenal paid 80 million for Pepe who was the standout player in France. He was supposed to be a brilliant signing. Ndombele was another coup for Spurs. A 20-year old winger from France is probably not going to improve the team so much that he transforms the attack but this is pretty much needed from that signing. Zaha would add a completely new dimension with his pace and goal scoring ability. Having said that, I don't think we are after him and 40 million for him is silly money. But I could see the point for 25-30 million if we want instant improvement.

It does matter because club will pay for him and then his wages for maybe four years. If Digne stays he's probably not playing enough and if he goes club would still need a new lb.

But when aren't immediately world beaters it's a great reason to call them shite.

So how much do you think a backup lb who is that good would cost? Or how much do you think the club should spend on one. I think we have at least six positions that need strengthening more.

Godfrey can also play there in an emergency.

I think Simms would gain more from playing a full season in the Championship than sitting on the bench in the PL.
