  1. TSF doesn't think too highly of Mirallas. http://www.thesecretfootballer.com/articles/the-secret-footballer/23667/kevin-mirallas-pays-the-penalty-for-selfish-spot-kick-failure/#slide-1
  2. Stanek was brought as a prospect. I don't think anyone expected him to fight for a place in the first team soon. He's still only 18.
  3. Haven't noticed the queue of top clubs trying to sign him.
  4. http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&sl=it&tl=en&u=http://www.milanlive.it/2015/01/24/milan-leverton-vuole-el-shaarawy-contatti-avviati/ Yeah, Google Translated, but you get the gist.
  5. We should sell Mirallas, tbh. Average but injury-prone winger with a bad attitude.
  6. You only have to look how many points on average we get when he plays and when he's not to see his importance. Parkinson was a bit similar, what did he ever do on the pitch? Yet we almost doubled the points average when he was playing.
  7. I checked those ages and you have to remove all the youngsters from that list who haven't really played a part, including Browning to get to that average age. Just removing Distin and Pienaar who are almost certainly not with us come next season drops that average to 27.1. Take Eto'o off as well and average is down to 26.8. And remember that bringing anyone under that age in would push that average further down. It's more interesting to look at various positions and how we are covered. Do we have immediate needs for certain positions, i.e. is the first choice needing replacement soon? Do we have a replacement already? GK: Howard, Robles Looks like we need a keeper. RB: Coleman, Hibbert. No immediate need, as long as Coleman is not sold. Hibbert is getting on, but we have a few youngsters who can also cover. LB: Baines, Garbutt, Oviedo Well covered if Garbutt signs a new contract. CB: Jagielka, Stones, Distin, Alcaraz, Browning, Galloway Could use someone to replace Distin. Alcaraz is a cheap fourth choice CB. CM: McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Barkley, Osman, Ledson, Naismith Pretty well covered for defensive mid. Barry is getting on and has looked slow but Besc has really stepped up. Ledson will need some playing time eventually. Osman is of limited use but will probably see out his career at Everton. Attacking mid could use more variety but this depends on the type of wide players that are brought in. Wide midfield: Mirallas, McGeady, Oviedo, Pienaar, Osman Our problem area. Even if Mirallas stays there's not much here. Forwards: Lukaku, Kone, Eto'o, Naismith, McAleny Eto'o looks unlikely to stay beyond this season. Kone is getting on and questions remain if McAleny is good enough. Naismith is better suited playing behind the attacker. So we could use someone here. We won't bring in half a dozen or more players first choice players. It's not even a good idea, look at how clubs who do this kind of things struggle.
  8. Besic is nowhere the player McCarthy is. We might just as well swap Mirallas for Lennon since they sort of play in the same position.
  9. Sell Mirallas and bring in two or three players. Mirallas is obviously looking for a move, he won't be here come September anyways.
  10. The teams do look at very precise stats but they are condensed to simple forms for simpletons like you.
  11. Taarabt has major issues as far as I know. Not exactly a team player.
  12. Used to play for City youth & has five England youth caps. Maybe that's why?
  13. That's because Sky and BT would not be happy about it and they pay an absolutely massive amount of money to the League. If this was done, it would mean the current TV deals would be much smaller. The revenues would be divided much more inevenly. Clubs like Manchester United would get a huge, huge boost in their income with their ridiculously large fan base while smaller clubs would get a lot less than they get now. Even Everton would probably make a lot less than now while ManU would probably make ten time more than currently. IIRC there are plans to show every Premier League match in the future, however, but still through Sky/BT/someone else.
  14. Martinez just said on the press conference that there is no truth in the Marshall rumours.
  15. We were linked to him last season. His name is actually Carles Gil, not Carlos Gil. Interesting player but I checked him out back then and he doesn't seem to have much in the way of end product and doesn't score many goals. In fact he seemed pretty good at missing chances and he's small (5'7") so he's a bit of a gamble.
  16. McCarthy is the key to Martinez's system so I would be very surprised if he is sold. Biggest reason we have struggled so much this season has been his absence.

  18. Pienaar isn't really a wide player either. He's more a no 10 type who Moyes made a left midfielder. Cleverley played his best football at Wigan on the left.
  19. Someone would pay that much for those two? Ha ha. And ha ha.
  20. Was there a similar campaign to save Stanley Park when the RS wanted to build their stadium there?
  21. Statistics tell that's more or less the case. There are very few cases where a team has outperformed the revenue expectations. Correlation is extremely strong.
  22. Where are the positive articles about this to deflect from the on-field problems?
  23. Only that markjazzbassist is officially an idiot.
