  1. really glad I've found no way to watch this colo-rectal exam.
  2. What does Lukaku have that makes him so special, really? Yes, he scored a good number of goals, but he's in a position to score them. I'd think most any player would score more goals as a lone striker than he would in another position. But I'm constantly baffled at how clumsy he looks with the ball, most of the time. (When it's not a single tap from a cross, or "the goal" against Chelsea.) His passes are often wayward, and he gets dispossessed seemingly all the time. Anyway, I know it's not an "easy" role. (Look at how much more competent he appears than Kone and Niasse.) I thought Benteke could have been a good replacement, but for his horrid play since he moved to LFC.
  3. I think my grandmother had the same long coat Pellegrini wears in the winter.
  4. Looking at Makis' well-thought-out post... How much does command of the English language matter? I mean, yeah, here in the US, it would be a non-starter. Sure, there are some Major League baseball players from Cuba or the Dominican Republic, etc... who don't speak much English. But a manager? That wouldn't work because nobody bothers to learn anything beyond English. But with so many international players in the BPL, do they all have a pretty good grasp of multiple languages that it's not an issue? I'd still think that because of the vast audience that the BPL has, including a large and growing American audience, a PL manager would need to be able to have a fairly good grasp of the English language.
  5. there appears to be renewed speculation surrounding Lucien Favre. http://royalbluemersey.sbnation.com/2016/5/18/11700048/wednesday-everton-manager-and-director-rumors http://www.football365.com/news/evertons-new-manager-i-am-your-favre
  6. My reasons are pretty much the same as Keith's, but add the trivia about Mother Noblett's Toffee Shop, and I was sold on Everton. (Although, i purchased a bag of the mints some time ago and couldn't stand them.)
  7. For the sake of edification, why not? (I don't know him beyond the basic bio. So, not arguing, just interested in why.)
  8. Twitter: David Unsworth and Joe Royle will take temporary charge for Sunday’s final game of the season against Norwich City
  9. 1:45 pm kickoff here. I'll watch the first half via the NBCSN Live Extra feed, but I have a meeting over the second half. Depending on how it's going, I'll either be completely distracted, or relieved.
  10. Don't want us to lose, ever, either, but agreed on keeping Sunderland up. Best mate is a Sunderland supporter, so a win for them at this stage means more than a win for us. Was looking at the relegation odds. Sunderland have a 91% likelihood of staying up. Newcastle about an 8% chance and Norwich about 1.5% of staying up. (I'm sure Sunderland's odds must be helped by the fact they're playing Everton. Plus the game in hand, obviously.) But, I'd be happy to win out (as long as it doesn't delay an RM departure), and have Sunderland beat Watford on Sunday for a strong note for them to finish on.
  11. Is Lucien Favre still on the short list? I'm only just beginning to become familiar with all these managers, but he seems like a great choice.
  12. well, it's not ALL of me that feels that way. Just a part. The bitter and cynical part.
  13. That's just the thing. Part of me hopes they lose, to hasten whatever "change" needs to be made. Plus, if they win, it just means more anxiety for the final. We're in a life raft full of holes.
