Haiku reacted to Sibdane in Trump all over again
I think a lot of people would love to replace Biden, myself included, but he's still a significantly better option than Trump. I find it crazy that someone would say that Biden is trying to destroy the US and that Trump isn't/wasn't. It was absolute chaos under Trump. He's the most polarizing president we've had in my lifetime by a wide margin. We are still feeling the negative effects of his one term. He's also a career criminal and should've been no where near the White House in the first place. The diehard Trump fans don't really care about politics or making the country better -- it's more about "owning the libs" to them.

Do you really think our squad is better than our current position in the table, considering the six points lost in arbitration?

You're going into details that we don't know if they're applicable in this case. Still, I don't see the point, especially since the loans for the majority of the construction were secured. Either way the club owes that money plus interest. In my opinion, it is best for the stadium to start operating as soon as possible and begin generating revenue. Additionally, this stadium is a huge asset that could eventually be sold to cover the obligations. Getting a massive loan and abandoning / delaying indefinitely your investment plans is far worse from a financial standpoint.
Valencia did something similar to what you suggested, and it has not been going well for them for over 15 years already. But they are lucky to be playing in an inferior league and have avoided relegation numerous times.

When Usmanov was sanctioned the loan deals had already been finalized along with agreements with Laing O'Rourke and other subcontractors. At that point there was no turning back or putting the construction on hold.

It was a poor piece of business from the start. I believe we were desperate and he wasn't even our fifth choice. Considering his stats at Udinese, in an inferior league, it seems we've been ripped off. There are plenty of similar players in the French league who could perform just as poorly for under 5 mil. At one point we were linked with Serhou Guirassy from Rennes, who ultimately moved to Stuttgart for a bag of sunflower seeds and is currently tearing up the German Bundesliga.

If John Stones sold for £50M way back in 2006, then as the owner club I would I'd be slapping a nice round £100m valuation on him - He's a CB that a club could built a whole team around for a decade plus. He is already part of one of the tightest defences in the Premiership and chips in with goals- and argubley first name on our teamsheet. Pay up of fuck off.
Other clubs are cashing in on £100m transfer fees for in demand player and we should be doing the same.

Players are treated as workers. They have insurance, but it mostly covers career ending injuries, death, disability, etc. which are paid out to the player or their family in case of an accident. I don't think clubs receive anything from regular injuries, otherwise insurance policies would be unmanageable. Dele will leave on a free and Tottenham will get nothing from it.

Good luck to Barkley in securing his final paycheck before going into retirement. He has been a disappointment to each of the clubs he signed with after leaving Everton and only recently found a run of form. It is a big gamble signing him because I'm not sure how long he can keep this going.

For over 6 months there was a contract on the table for him to sign which would have made him the highest paid player in the club, Koeman did what I would expect most managers to do when they are trying to build a team, he got fed up of talking about him signing and gave him an ultimatum to sign by if he intended to stay. He went to Stamford Bridge had his medical then decided he wasn’t ready to sign the deal both clubs had agreed for 35 million, he then comes back sits on the treatment bench and picks up his wages until the next transfer window, then goes back to Chelsea and signs for 15 million less lines his own pocket and where to believe he had no idea what was going on. And let’s remember this isn’t from a player who’s come to Everton without any allegiance this is a player who is an Evertonian who at one time expressed his love for the team, well he had funny way of showing it, but luckily most haven’t forgotten his treachery and he was roundly booed off by true fans who love this club.

Don't care how they go in, so long as they do. Personally I think Niasse knew exactly what he was doing and his 200iq strategy was "put it where they least expect it"...

Let's look at it realistically. We've spent fuck all on transfers in the past three years - net transfer spend of -75m. There's only one other team with negative transfer spending, and that's Brighton. While we do have some good players and occasionally get lucky patches, the reality is that we aren't very good as a team, and our players aren't consistently performing well. Dyche does a good job of getting the best out of them, but sometimes he fails, or rather the players fail him. Anyway, we are where we are with our current squad in bad form. It is clear as day that we need a significant investment if we are to become competitive.

I love it. It is different from most modern stadiums with a minimalistic oval shape. Ours is so much more than that. Though I've seen people on Twitter mocking the design, saying it looks like a more expensive version of the King Power Stadium.

One day, it's all going to come out. There's no doubt VAR is being used to rig results, no doubt at all. The league's defence will be that football is no different from wrestling - it's entertainment, and they can rig it however they like - but that's not how fans see it. We demand honesty, fairness, and a single standard that's applied to all. The FA has it in for Everton, no doubt, and we've almost reached the point where an independent inquiry should be convened.
And if the FA wants to show me a red card for writing that, then "go ahead - make my day!"
