It's not a mystery that Evertonians will get behind a player that works his arse off. Denis Straq is one of the worst players we've seen but the endearing memory was him running his arse into the ground. Marcus Bent, Steven Naismith, Kevin Kilbane, Richarlison, Gana, - all players who weren't as technical as others but their efforts in the shirt will stand long in the memory. McNeil came off that pitch knowing that never matter how bad his touch etc on the day is - all he needs to do is bust a gut and we will love him. hopefully the likes of Onana seen it too.

Martinez first season was amazing. We can debate about the defence being Moyes etc but I can't see how they suddenly become awful. Overplaying it at the back maybe but yeah that first Martinez season was great
