  1. wasnt it 3-1 to us and didnt gardner score? ive got two mates who has been to whl plenty of times. they say he's a good bit part player, which he will be for us. good signing in my view, doesnt disrupt the squad and is more than a useful backup. gutted about pienarr by the way, lets hope he's back in time for the sk brann game. could this be the eleventh chance for vdm?
  2. yep fully agree with the above post...people need to relax and stop pressing the panic button we have played 10 games this season, losing only three times - two of which we were very unlucky but all of a sudden, its tunnel vision. who have we played really really badly against ? who has out classed us this season ? yak has played 3 games, scored 2 goals and people are going on at him already !! dont forget, we have new players in the squad and it needs some time to gel together...dont start smashing down the managers door demanding his head after 10 competitive games, its stupid who plays well every game ?? which team plays brazil esq football week in and week out ? nobody... big picture please its only the end of september ffs !!
  3. yep i agree, two european finishes in three years spending almost peanuts to pick up world class players like mikey arteta and yobo having the youngest most exciting squad in the last twenty years at Goodison park mans woeful fire him and bring back mike walker and walter smith
  4. enough of that talk for starters.....one bad result and all of a sudden its out with moyes and in with peter reid ffs get a grip im as annoyed as the next evertonian by bashing the manager isnt the answer. it wasnt his fault AJ cant smash the ball home for 18 yds !! the long ball tactic was awful tonight but we still created enough chances to bury them out of sight. roll on two weeks time when they will have two reserve centre backs playing, got to keep the confidence up one big low point, what the hell is going on with the yak ? he joined us coz he wanted to play in europe and didnt bother turning up tonight, thanks mr yak and hibbo can fuck off hibbo out, pip right back and for god sake get tommy g back in centre mid !! we will have them in two weeks when tommy g and mikey arteta are back
  5. i fully agree with the above post i urge you all to think about the long term consquences if you vote no.. what does a no vote mean ? it means that tesco and kirkby council will move without us...do you honestly think their attitude will be "yeah fair enough then, we'll hold fire investing in the area and growing until you made up your mind in a year or so. give us a call when you want, love you guys" no chance....im afraid business doesnt work that way im confused how you have lost confidence in the board. do you have any idea what actually is going on behind the scenes ? or just happy to listen to the whispers and scarmongers around different forums like the comedy "i saw kaka in a everton shirt" nsno ? years ago, we were up to our eye balls in debt and flogging all our best players just to keep us alive (remember the ferguson transfer ? or micheal ball ? going further back, having to flog peter beardsley just to balance the books). this is the board who is now attempting to sign gifted young players whilst also signing up its talent to long contracts. when was the last time we flogged a great player ? been a while hasnt it ? it annoys me no end when some people bang on about the board being is a disgrace and not backing moyes with money..says who exactly ?? yeah we didnt sign smith, nugent or koumas..but who said we wanted them ? moyes says the board backs him 100% and have been excellent, is he a liar aswell ? as for haggling on players transfer fees, what is wrong with that ? you think arsenal accepted barca's first henry bid ? you think utd rolled over and accepted anything real offered them for beckham ?? haggling makes good business sense, any penny saved in one deal can be spent in another one. im an account manager for npower and have to do this on a daily business. and dont give me the "football is different to other businesses" - at the end of the day, its all about the p&l column on a spreadsheet. on the stadium issue, do we honestly believe BK and KW sole objective is to sell out to tesco and take a bag full of money for themselves ? hell no...anybody who thinks that needs to see the blood sweat tears and money BK has invested into Everton, he's as loyal as anyone of us dont be sucked into the total bs coming from the council and keioc. these jokers are clutching at straws and giving facts which are about as hard as my shit after 10 pints and two currys. the same council who have given us nothing for years and allowed the rs to bribe their way to a big new stadium on green belt land. the world is a small place, why has it taken the council this long to come up with these amazing alternatives stated by our favourite councillor ? you dont think that maybe they could have told us about this a long time ago ? do people honestly think our board havent been on at the council for years ? of course they have ! gees guys, wake up and stop believing all the bs coming from tinpot idiots who use forums to peddle their fuzzy ideas please see both alternatives...if we say no, we could be scrambling around years trying to find another investment deal which matches this...if that will ever happen. knowing the lcc, if we vote no, they will spend the next 2 years pissing us about with a few "well we could.." ideas whilst raking in the cash from our red cousins new venture.
  6. you are such a skeptic Adam could it be that DM has just been keeping his cards close to his chest, waiting to get rid of the fringe players before improving his squad ? and if the bid wasnt real, what would have happened if boro had accepted it ? i think this is all real and above boared, not everything is do with move to kirkby if we are to believe everybodies views, the board use strong propaganda tactics inc lieing about bids on players to get the fans to vote their way and that DM was going to quit if he wasnt given 10 mill.....all very x-files like isnt it ?!
  7. geees man can you imagine a strike force of both yak and aj tearing apart european and home defences ? it would be quality how can anybody not be sure about him ? he ploughed home 16 goals for boro last year when they were one of the worse teams in the premiership both him and aj will be very mobile strikers which DM likes and he can play up front on his own excellent signing if we can get him
  8. dont believe a word of it i can imagine the person who wrote that on the peoples forum is also the kind of person who writes "everton are going to swap alonso for le scott" ERS are well respected and very professional (as said above) too much scarmonging coming from both sides...things are about to get very messy the everton board havent gone about this the correct way with their "this way or else" attitude but i still believe its the most attractive package. keioc have alot of ifs and maybes and have no solid financial backing/plan whoever wins will face a backlash
  9. ever thought that moyes was waiting for the pre-season madness to finish before bidding on players ? most teams now have a settled squad and have showed their hands in the transfer market. other teams who were after yakubu, if various news sources are correct, included pompey, spurs and aston villa. these teams have all brought strikers and are no longer in the market for one. maybe moyes didnt want to get dragged into a bidding war and was also waiting to offload james meattie. you just dont know dont get sucked in by the old "everything everton say are lies" who says we are struggling to buy vogel ? must have missed that quote from DM or AI who says we only have a ten mill budget ? people were saying sometime back that we only had a £4mill budget !! nobody has a clue how much we/cant afford. theres alot of people on here that now dont believe a word that comes out of Goodison park and even believe BK is building some super daddio 20 bedroom house in dubai with our money.... if we do get yak and manny/lucho, will you be prepared to run onto the pitch naked and bow down to the ginger king in forgiveness ?
  10. would you rather have vogel or "lucho" ? might aswell save a million and put together an inviting package for a younger better player holding midfields is not the problem, ball playing midfielders are. We need someone to take the pressure off of Mikey Arteta ill be happy to get el lucho rather than vogel
  11. The Nugent-deal is gone. The Smith-deal is gone. The Braaten-deal is gone. The Vogel-deal is....put on ice? The Gonzales-deal is...a risky deal. i dont understand any of the above. when did we attempt to sign smith, nugent and braaten ? surely unless the club say we have bid for players, we are not in for them ? the vogel deal could be completed this week for all we know, the club dont need to inform us of progress. Why is buying a midfield playmaker with european experience risky ?? everybody has been crying out for midfielder to take the pressure off of arteta and he could be the one. Also, AVDM could well be a huge asset next season If you take a look at the goals scored last season, apart from AJ, most of the goals came from the midfield which shows our midfielders are happy to push on and weigh in with the goals. sometimes we do try to grind out 0-0 draws but whats wrong with that ?? chelsea hardly go out all guns ablazing neither do the RS, they finish in the top 4 every season !! you cant win every game
  12. i thought £11 million was the fee mentioned ? dont forget, in this day and age, fees are never paid up in full at the start of the deal (take bale at spurs for instance, he's only cost them £5mill up front) lots of angry people on here banging the "where has the money gone" drum...maybe the money is there but moyes isnt prepared to be bummed over by other clubs over pricing their players, would you pay £5.5mill for richardson ?? hell no there was an email on the forum from Ian Ross saying "david moyes refuses to pay over the odds for players", this is beginning to ring true imo too many posts on here fuming about us being out bid for players, players who we havent actually bid for ! rant over lets just hope this story is true and he signs up asap
  13. yep i get that impressions about him aswell could do with a ball playing midfielder to take the pressure off of Arteta MA cant play in every single game next season so we need someone with good technical skills to fill in for him, this guy seems to fit the bill ill be very happy if we sign him and baines next week
  14. "Yeh, an Cahill is exactly the same. Where the hell has this money come from? As if he would choose us over Lyon or Jueventus" helpful comments you moan about us not having a big squad and then say "he's the same as a player we already have, whats the point in signing him" geees no point in buying baines then coz we have valente this place is doing my head in recently as for not signing for us instead of juve and lyon...where have those two clubs come out and said they've made a play for him ? how do you know juve and lyon want him ? why would he want to play in france where the league makes scotlands look hardcore ? id rather have a push pop than a french league winners medal, means more lets cut out all the bullshite and get behind the club from now on
  15. baines being a red makes no difference at all Fowler, stevie M, Michael Owen etc were all evertonians and they signed for liverpool i have faith, he'll be an everton player by the end of the week
  16. Baines will sign for us, i agree with all those comments above if we get him our defence will be completed concerned about our backup plan with beattie going but who knows whats going to happen this week remember, not every player is money motivated guys.... as for baines being a red, has he actually ever come out and said he's a rs ?
  17. i would like to add my sadness at the news that DM has lost his mother shame on the people making false stories about DM going home to think about resigning, when it was infact to deal with his loss
  18. licker, how much would you value Goodison park at ? its ground in the middle of houses, by a church and not in an ideal location as far as the transport infrasture is concerned its just a small bit land at the end of the day, whoever buys the is buying it for houses/flats/shops etc so much about figures and finances on here, lets be honest, everytime you open the papers a different figure is being quoted daily mirror "sky money this season is in the region of £60 million" telegraph "sky money this season is in the region of £50 million" daily sport "sky money this season is in the region for £200million and 14 pornstars and you get laid in your local area tonight by calling 0891 90 90 90" lets get one thing straight, only members at the club and the auditors know how much money we are getting and how much of a mess our accounts are in historically. have you ever thought DM doesnt like being ripped off and will only sign players for what he sees as a good price ? obviously we are not cash rich but are you trying to tell me we have less money than a league 2 club ?!! would you really like to be part of a club like west ham, wigan or fulham buying any old crap for large amounts of money ?? nope didnt think so
  19. im looking forward to it with great expectation cahill and vaughan are not out for that long (cahill for roughly two months and vaughan for 3/4 months) i see people shouting for a striker to fill in for vaughan whilst he's out...what happens to that striker when vaughan is back ?? yes its not ideal but vaughan only played in the final three months of the season, so we coped with him for the majority and we can do it again as for cahill being out, yes its a blow but osman and pienarr can fill in for him short term. if its true about shandy van der meyde flying in training and getting back to full fitness, our midfield could have a very useful playmarker to take the pressure off Arteta baines WILL sign in the next couple of days, im confident about that (as stated on a different thread...no transfer is completed without abit of bargaining and man city wont get anywhere near him) my only concern is the risky selling of james beattie with no replacement in sight. im hoping moyes brings a rabbit out of a hat here too many people on here talking as though we are relegation fodder. do we want a huge squad with average players or spend loads and take us to the brink of going under IF the uefa cup adventure goes down the pan ? no of course not stop looking about what happened two years ago, we have grown as a squad and moyes has improved as a manager lets get behind them !
  20. Turner was superb against manchester utd but made one mistake the reviews he was getting at sheffield wednesday gives me confident that he could be a great keeper in the future the goalkeeping situation is the least of our worrys... baines signs and our defence is complete midfield is fine (fingers crossed that vogel signs aswell) if beattie leaves, we need a striker
  21. these guys are worse than the council im not interested in their plans..to attempt to re-develope the ground would be a financial disaster
  22. im confused about the panic if im honest our squad is stronger than last season (vaughan and victor will come of age, VDM is flying, Da Silva is getting more confident with every game, beattie has lost a ton of weight, pistone has gone and we have signed three very good players in Lukas J, Jags and Pienarr) so we might not be able to win the carling cup, like anybody cares. i dont mind if we get knocked out of the second round of the carling cup and the third round of the fa cup if it means we attack the uefa cup and the end up in the uefa cup spot in the league come the end of the season which teams are people actually worried about ? which teams have really improved this pre-season ? please god dont say garbage like fulham and pompey who have paid over the odds for average players. I think we are one of the few teams in the second tier of the premiership who have improved their squad by keeping our best players and adding the squad with two excellent ready made signings would you rather buy good quality players or players for the sake of it like bolton seem to be doing ? as for baines, nobody excepts the first bid for a player..lets all calm down and see what happens in the next few days as for the daily mirror report about liverpool enterting the race to sign him, is this the same mirror who reported et'o and henry wanted to sign for liverpool ? oh yeah, so it was.
  23. Thats an excellent post Mike Very interesting point Also dont forget, Everton have never actually played in the borough of Everton
  24. excellent point about da silva i havent seen any of the friendly games but understand he is playing well to be honest, the holding midfield position is one of our strongest areas. getting rid of carsley to sign baines would be a good bit of business imo if/when we sign vogel, we will have him, da silva, jags and pip available for the holding role howard jags/pip yobo lescott baines pienarr cahill vogel arteta beats/vaughan aj with hibbo, avdm,da silva, mcfadders, stubbs, nuno and victor in reserve (hopefully some of the kids like paddy boyle and lukas j will step up in carling cup games)...i think we have the makings of a very good squad. yes short of numbers, but high on quality and very flexible
