  1. Ishe Samuels Smith is off to Chelsea for near £4m. 17 year old left back and supposedly a top prospect but that could be an important £4m in the short term I suppose. Warrington and Simms also available to raise funds according to The Bobble. This is the reality of the state we’re in.
  2. I’ve seen a few comments (on Twitter) saying we never learn - this isn’t overpaying on Schneiderlin, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bolasie, Tosun etc - it’s not even paying too much for a Delph or Williams type. This is smart business at a nominal fee - by modern day standards anyway.
  3. We all want to plan long-term but Our short-term future in the Premier League is integral - a low price, top quality player like this is exactly what we need now. I personally thought a top Spanish team would snap him up but if we’ve got a chance, he must be a priority.
  4. Rodrigo and Maitland-Niles will be our first 2 signings. One to make you happy, one to wind you up.
  5. Before Twitter went silly today, Alan Myers tweeted that he thinks (no evidence just personal opinion) we’ll sign Rodrigo and we’ll be exploring the loan and free market. Signing Rodrigo and maybe Dembele (free) or cheapish option e.g. Piroe or some unknown from foreign league on non-PL wages would be top business in my opinion.
  6. I love our club… Not disputing that he’d improve us but this is just another EFC soap opera!
  7. https://planetswans.co.uk/2023/06/30/everton-and-nottingham-forest-in-prioe-chase/ Keep seeing us linked to the Swansea striker - I’m aware of him but not going to pretend to know much about him. His goal scoring (and assists) record in the Championship is very impressive. No Piroe, no party?
  8. https://www.goodisonnews.com/2023/06/29/everton-transfer-news-as-towering-striker-keisuke-goto-wanted/ Not sure if he’d be a first team option but we could certainly do with a goto option when DCL is injured.
  9. I think he did a bit in a very poor team - Sampdoria finished rock bottom by a mile.
  10. The stadium is the biggest difference between Everton and Villa - similar size, following, history, fan base, even Ellis/Kenwright similarities but Villa Park is lightyears ahead of Goodison with corporate and income generating. Things may seem pretty shitty at the moment but Bramley Moore is the most important part of Our foreseeable future - it’s our opportunity to become ‘competitive’ again - the biggest travesty is that it’s taken so long to get to this point - what could have been had we moved into King’s Dock all those years ago? We’ll never know but at least we’re close to reality now.
  11. Smart business if true - like what I’ve seen and heard about Wharton - very high ceiling.
  12. Linked with a £3M deal… many will dwell on the 32 going on 33 age and no resale value but that’d be ridiculous - he’s far superior to any attacking player we have or have had since James Rodriguez- I’d love him here personally. We need young/long term options but sometimes a deal is far too good to ignore.
  13. I agree partially but this is the first time I’ve actually felt that the wheels are in motion for Bill’s departure and it seems to be gathering speed… as much as we ‘all’ want him out - it does make sense for there to be some transitional period - just as long as it does actually mark the end of Blue Bill!
  14. I actually feel really positive after yesterday’s news - didn’t it essentially confirm that Kenwright will be gone in the next few weeks once the MSP due diligence is done? That’s how I interpreted it anyway.
  15. £20m however it’s paid can go on this year’s accounts - then what you pay out can be reported over the contract. That’s my understanding anyway.
  16. Here’s my understanding… Shrewd business to me is say selling Gray for £20m which technically allows us to buy 4-5 £15-£20m players over a 4/5 yr contract e.g we replace Gray with Harrison for £16m but only pay £4m a season - we can put the Gray £20m on this year’s accounts then Harrison instalments over the next 4 years - by that time we are in the new stadium and bringing much more money into the club commercially. I know there’s other costs in all incomings and outgoings and we’ll already have remaining instalments to pay on some players but this is my picture of a shrewd model.
  17. This doesn’t surprise me at all - we need to sell a ‘big’ name - I’d happily lose Onana and Iwobi or Gray along with the obvious names e.g Maupay, Holgate, Gomes, Gbamin - big thing for me is taking advantage of the free agent market this summer - they’re obviously not free but a signing on fee and wages for someone like Dembele is far better business than £10m plus signing on fee and wages for someone like Maupay - there are plenty of free options there.
  18. I think Arsenal are after Lavia and another - they’re losing Xhaka and Partey supposedly.
  19. I can see Arsenal coming straight in for Onana once Rice goes to Man City and hopefully Chelsea help drive up the price as Man City have with Rice.
  20. I stand by this and if the £16m release clause is true, then it’s a no brainer for me.
  21. I disagree - I think he’s a decent player. Full of energy and comfortable on the ball. He was a key part of Emery’s Arsenal and has not really had any consistency since. I was going to post when I saw him ‘free’ (before confirmation) a couple of weeks ago but knew he wouldn’t be for everyone so couldn’t be arsed but now we’re actually linked, I hope we sign him.
  22. I personally think all 3 would be good signings. Maitland-Niles’ versatility would be a bonus in our light squad and could spell the end to ever seeing Holgate or Godfrey at full-back. I think Emery will come in for him though - played him a lot when at Arsenal.
  23. He’s on a golfing holiday in Portugal and obviously snuck Stone and Woan in his hand luggage.
