All the best to him - it can’t have been easy with him being away from his mother. I do hope Malik’s mother gets better soon.
-
Surely we noticed Hamer when scouting Gyorkes- would have been a top quality Iwobi replacement who we must have known was leaving having not signed that contract.
-
Oozes class but an absolute warrior too - excellent again!

GK: Pickford
Rb: Garner
Lb: Young
RCb: Tarkowski
LCb: Branthwaite
DCm: Gueye
Cm: Onana
Cm: Doucoure
RW: Danjuma
LW: McNeil
Str: Beto
Fingers crossed that McNeil is actually fit as that is surely good enough for 3 points today.

Thelwell is supposedly trying to renegotiate the Dele deal… good luck with Levy!!!

Another positive from this window as long as we haven’t paid off his contract
Nope - not a penny… ignoring the £25m original fee and 4 years on £100k per week… fair play Jean-Phillipe

Our signings in the 2019-20 season are really interesting…
Iwobi - decent enough but never really hit the heights many expected - lost a few £mil but not a bad signing
Kean - massive let down on the face of it but made a decent profit when sale and loan fees are considered
Gomes - the moment Gueye left, we should have had a rethink… we didn’t and Gomes had that awful injury and the rest is history - great loan but poor signing
Delph - should have been our new Gareth Barry but couldn’t get him on the pitch - waste of time overall - could/should have been a shrewd signing
Sidibe - on-loan but to be fair, decent full-back cover
Branthwaite - hopefully the shining light on this period of mismanagement and erratic spending!!!
-
Pickford/Virginia/Lonergan
Patterson/Coleman
Young/Mykolenko
Tarkowski/Branthwaite/Keane/Godfrey
Garner/Gueye/Onana/Doucoure
Dele
McNeil/Harrison/Dobbin/Danjuma
Beto/Calvert-Lewin/Chermiti (23 players)
??? - Gomes/Gray/Gbamin (26?)
Have I missed anyone? I joke but can see players like Lingard coming into the reckoning with our threadbare squad - should it look like this when all windows close!

Sinisterra having medical at Bournemouth
On-loan… we can’t do a loan deal unless Harrison is made permanent- shame as think he’s quality based on the little I’ve seen.

Off to Brentford - loan to buy. Wow!
-
Centre midfield is certainly a position to keep an eye on. We may look well stocked now but only Onana and Garner are here ‘long-term’ as it stands:
Gueye - 1yr
Doucoure - 1yr
Dele - 1yr
Gomes - 1yr (should be gone today)
Gbamin - 1yr (should be gone today)
Hard to say whether the top 3 will still be here after this season so it’s certainly an area we’ll be addressing over the next 3 windows (maybe starting today).

Jean-Philippe Gbamin’s agent, Bernard Collignon, has said that he has had “no contact from any club”. He also says that Everton value him at £5m and that he is “hoping to find solution to end his contract”. (Source: @ShamoonHafez)

For an actual fee?!
We’re asking £5m supposedly- just seen someone else say there’s no truth in Cadiz and Gbamin wants to terminate his contract.

It'd still work out cheaper to buy Gnonto.
Yeah but imagine the new Tik Tok followers we’d gain with J-Linz’s social media profile!

End of the nightmare (for all parties)?

I think the biggest problem with us trying to get Gnonto was the structure of the deal, rather than the overall fee. So if we sell Iwobi and/or Gray, that should allow us to offer better terms.
That certainly seems to be the case - just seen ‘EFC confident once Iwobi money is in’ - I hope so but this could be the ever so familiar deadline day story for us for this year! We tried and tried and tried but ended up with Jesse Lingard on a free!

We have enough cover for left wingers, it's a right winger we need to be chasing.
He nor Harrison are exclusively left wingers - both often play from the right (same with Sinisterra who we’re also linked to).

We need a proper playmaker in the centre of the park
In the 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 system I agree but if we signed Phillips, we would control more games and focus more on creating from wide - a tactic Dyche teams are renowned for.
-
Gnonto and Phillips (loan) would be the perfect day (well throw in the next Lillian Thuram too) - don’t expect it but we can dream.
Imagine the Leeds fan’s reaction!!!

I keep seeing/hearing Luis Sinisterra’s (Leeds) name being mentioned but no firm links. Very good winger but missed a lot of last season due to injury.

McNeil is in with shout for this one which will be a massive positive.
I am worried about how Pickford deals with Robinson’s long throws

Interesting one - good technically, which you’d expect from Brighton - was meant to go on-loan to WBA this time last year - at 25 (next week), I’m not sure there’s a future at BHA. Very versatile if memory serves and left sided (obviously central mid) so ticks a lot of boxes.

Branthwaite but could have been Gueye, Onana, Beto or Pickford in my opinion.
I’m glad Patterson got his assist - so much to like about him but he always seems to be involved in the big moments against - he’s hopefully going to benefit from having a proper wide-man (hopefully Harrison) in front of him eventually. Same can be said about Young too to be fair.
