Pretty sure the £2m was a claim made in the Gnonto deal when we were supposedly offering £15m or something - now there’s talk of £40m… basically, it’s all speculation and none of us know the finer details of negotiations and deals/structure.

Looking at our signings, only Chermiti is committed (as it stands) for over a year add to that most of our squad only have 1 year left on contracts too.

Nor me, I was pegging the washing out… had my dad round today to watch and in the time I pegged out, put another wash on and got the chicken out/ pre-heated the oven - he called me 3 times - Dobbin on, Iwobi off and 3-0 Villa… surprisingly, I returned to endure the rest. Best decision I made was turning down tickets today (in the Villa end).

Ticks a lot of boxes for me - just watch his performance at Goodison last season. When DCL is unavailable or needs rotating, Adams is spot on in my opinion with the added bonus that we’ve got a prospect in Chermiti who can contribute too. I don’t know what this means for Maupay should we sign Adams but I do think Adams is more suited.

Will split opinions but Adams is a solid option - once again, something we’ve lacked for far too long.

No-one’s getting excited about this and on the face of it, we’re well covered in centre-mid but this is the kind of back-up that we’ve been crying out for for years. He’s reliable, fits the system, bags of energy, tenacious and a bit of quality. Much better option than Gomes and we can’t go through the season with just Gueye, Doucoure, Onana and Garner. Would be a positive squad addition at the right price (under £10m) in my opinion.
