  1. At the end of the day Moyes has come out and said that we need to strengthen at the back over the transfer window, so whether Senderos was to join or not, I don't think it signals anything about the Lescott situation. As far as a player I think Senderos would be a brilliant signing for us, as over the past couple of transfer windows David Moyes hasn't managed to bring in any of the marquee players he wants to take us to the next level. Although Senderos hasn't been able to reach his full potential over the past few years, he has still trained and played at the top level in Europe and has vital champions league experience as well as international experience. From missing out on Owen I think Moyes felt any marquee player would give Everton the boost to start the season well and stop a repeat of the first couple of months that we had at the start of last season. In the current market, the money we will spend on Senderos is relatively cheap for a player with good potential and it is not as if we are buying another Van Der Meyde, as this is a player who is committed and proffessional. Other than all this, it would also give us another player participating in the 2010 World Cup, which I am sure all Evertonians will agree adds an extra special element to International Tournaments.
  2. I think he's starting early with his celebrations for signing for the blues.
  3. I think we should attempt a two up front again. I know the Yak prefers being the only one, but at the moment he isn't doing his job in holding the ball up, so I think the only solution to this that involves Yakubu playing is to give him someone else up front to pass to and support.

  5. Watched the match last night, am glad that I stuck with it, especially after a dull 1st half and then conceding 2 goals. Went from one extreame to the other, first angry that the foul on Anichebe was not a penalty, then amazed and happy at Molyneux's freekick, then pissed off with the ref that he let Liverpool kick-off straight away. With the amount of cards he was showing to the Everton lads I wouldn't be suprised to hear he was a red. Anyway good result, Baxter looked poor, best moment was his attempt to volley the ball and just booted it in the air and it somehow stayed in, however looked solid defensively. Akpan looked good and Kissock looked in a class of his own. Had lost faith in Vaughany in resent times, but reignited the flame last night. A good result.
  6. http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagenews.asp?newsid=191385 He is already being payed ridiculous amounts of money from Newcastle, how much would we have to shed out just to get him here. Then he'll get injured and we'll spend loads of money on a player who doesn't play for us, then he'll move on to another team who want to pay him a larger sum of money.
  7. Top player, would love to have him here, although I was convinced we wouldn't get him, for some reason I thought it was a certain he would go to either Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea or Portsmouth. One of Fenerbahce's best players. And as it is on a free it would be worth a punt, centre of the park still needs strengthening in my eyes, so it would be up to him to battle it out with Castillo to see who got the DM role, a bit of competition in the midfield might help a few players to raise their game aswell.
  8. Who do you all think it is??? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Josheph Yobo, I put him up there with Arteta and Cahill, but because he is a defender and he does what he needs to with minimal fuss, he doesn't get as much credit as other players and just seems a player who doesn't stand out, even though he is a great footballer. Disscuss ...
  9. Thank you, I have been judged fairly. I could take the rest, but as soon as they prise me away from arteta, I will not stand for it, i'm trying to get the money together to get him over at Barca.
  10. I am a bit doom and gloom about the Liege match. I don't take 2-2 at home as a draw as the away team come away with the advantage of away goals and they are also likely to play better at home. But if we do manage to win, I'm not sure if that will suddenly cure all of our defensive problems. Fingers crossed though, it would be a massive step in the right direction.
  11. Real Madrid. It wasn't even £20m up front which pisses me off, it was £10m then the rest in clauses and without asking me they just told me that the offer was too good to refuse, so the board accepted it. It's happened to me before, Cisse was sold for £23m without me agreeing to it and he had scored 40 goals that season and Mauro Zarate was sold for £42m who played 82 games and scored 98 goals, I was looking forward to the 100 mark with Zarate.
  12. Who the fuck are Marlon Brando, Steve McQueen, James Dean, Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford??? (Note: This is sarcasm).
  13. Needs to settle in a bit before anyone can actually tell. Castillo on the other hand is looking the better of the pair at the moment I think.
  14. I was Everton last season on it and won the league and champions league (beat united 5-0 in the final). But I am ashamed to say I left the managerial post to manage Barcelona this season. The board wanted to sell Arteta for £20 million and I gave them an ultimatum, saying if he left then I left...I did not expect them to make that sacrifice ...but soon Mourinho was appointed Everton manager. Needless to say I bought all my youth players over to La Liga and knocked Everton out of the Champions League next season with barca .
  15. Baines is far too attacking to play on the left-side with Arteta. I say we bring back Nuno for on last glorious season .
  16. You were only 10. Those boots must have come straight out of Johan's footlocker.
  17. FM hero...he is my god. Other FM legends that have come to the premier league are City's Jo and Kompany, but there are still a few more out there for Everton to buy: Vincent Enyeama - GK Mauro Zarate - ST (although Lazio are very interested - they have him on loan and he has just scored like 6 goals in 4 appearances) Hatem Ben Arfa - MF Stephen Sunday (Sunny) - DM Joseph Mattock - LB/LM Victor Moses - ST/AM Vladimír Weiss - AM Ben Mee - CB
  18. R.I.P... (*Looks shiftily to his left*..."who is Paul Newman?")
  19. ...and why has Geovanni's goal not been mentioned yet???
  20. Not a red, but no chance of an appeal. The whole respect campaign will immediatley allow the red card to stand. If indeed as many people are saying that the red would have been shown anyway, regardless of him walking away, then maybe, but due to the fact that he showed disrespect by ignoring the whistle and refusing to walk over, we won't win any appeal.
  21. Was playing footy yesterday for the local side and scored a 25 yard volley into the top right hand corner of the net (it was made a lot more pleasing by the fact that it was on my weaker foot ). I wasn't actually aiming to put it there, it was just cleared from the box and with all the anger built-up inside me from the loss of the derby I just lashed it in. Needless to say I did not celebrate as everyone clapped, I nonchalantly walked away looking at the ground as if I scored goals like that everyday . I was just wondering if anyone else has scored a goal that they were so pleased with, they will remember it years down the line.
  22. I think he definately is worth it as he is a brilliant manager, but I'm not sure what's happening with Everton at the moment. First we say we desprately need a new owner as we are having financial problems, then it looks like we might get a new owner, then it looks like we won't get one, then we pay out large sums of money to keep Moyesy. I hope this new contract is a sign that money will start to be pumped into the club.
  23. I'm off to manchester to do english and history combined honours.
