let's hope McNeil discovers close to the form he attained lat Brighton ast year. Brighton are good at their place, and I am sure they will not fall into the same trap as they did last time we visited. I feel it could be a tough afternoon on the south coast. I would settle for something like a 2-2 draw with a DCL brace. as long as we come away with a couple of positives, to take us in to the next few games.

thats my point, a flat market will not help us if we HAVE to sell this summer. I don't see massive fees paid at all, as there will be plenty of selling clubs and not so many buying clubs (at least not at the premium prices we have seen the past few years). I can see Chelsea as a club this might effect massivley. I feel clubs might only get 60 to 70p on the £1 this summer. I don't actually mean us getting any bargains - as see us having fuck all money to spend this summer. I can see the likes of Spurs doing well this window. Lets hope our players don't rock the boat to much and try to push to get a transfer this summer.

I agree. He is still our best option as a starting striker given his attributes discussed about. I think he will benefit massivley now Doucs is back. Last night you could see Doucs was short of match fitness - so hopefully if DCL and Doucs can stay fit than that will hold us in good stead for the rest of the season. I was gutted when the goal was give to Harrison a couple of weeks ago - I though he had finally ended his drought. I was desperate for a DCL goal and a win against Palace - that would have made a massive difference to the general feel around the place going in the final third of the season. On a positive note, before the Palace game the bookies had us at 3/1 for relegation and today we are 4/1, so in that way it was maybe a slightly better week for us than our nearest rivals.

A lot will depend on the state of the transfer market. January was as flat as a witches tit. We just have to hope we don't HAVE to sell this summer. I don't see inflated fees being paid left right and center this summer. Massive point sanctions will currently be putting fear in to clubs at the moment. This might be a good window for getting some bargains, as clubs having to offload players to get there booking in order, but other clubs not wanting to stretch their finances.

It is so so furstrating to see DCL back on the pitch after best part of two season with injury problems, only for him to have somehow totally lost the ability to put the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately, him missing some very good chances is one of the main reasons we have not been able to get a win or two in the run of eight games. I hope he finds some for soon!! I think DCL (or other striker) scoring two or three goals over the past 8 games would have impacted the other two stats. DCL fit and a back up striker or two in the building - but still no goal scorer.

no real shining light, but McNeil put the ball on DCL head in the first half, his corner delivery was inch perfect for Onnana equaliser, and Tarks had a great chance to snatch a winner from his free kick. some poor finishing denied him finishing the game with 3 assists.

not a great day at the office. We are a team who have currently forgotten how to win. Today was a massive chance missed to get back to winning games. I did fear today Palace would be difficult than it was on paper due to whats happened at the club this week. The only saving grace is this team are managing to pull a point back in games from losing position rather than going on to losing them. and every point may count come the end of the season.

Liverpool is a great city and I just think Everton are making the very best of the location in which our new stadium is going to be located. It could quite easliy become one if not the very best large capacity venues in the country. If the statidum is set up to extract maximum revenue for 50,000 people in attendance, be it Everton supporters on 20 odd match days (those who want to and are happy to spend) or AC/DC fans et al on an evening in July, it will all introduce an much needed additional revenue stream to the club. The stadium seem to be the one thing the club are getting right, from location, the design, the fans buy in to the project all the way through to the commercial nouse in its development.

Oviosely wish Roy all the best at the moment along with a speedy recovery. I fell either situation is not going to help us on Saturday. We will definately see that extra effort for Roy in his sick bed/last game or extra effort to show the new incoming manager we can play or even a combination of both. Either way Palace players are going to be up for this game more than say they have been for the last half dozon game. We all know how these things work.

That's without considering an inevatable increase in ticket prices. Any revenue gained for none Everton events could be significant, becasue this stadium has probably been better designed and built that any other as a large capacity 'Entertainmenting venue' with multi purpose use in mind. I go to a lot of music concerts and the VIP packages you now see on offer seem to be big and more frequent all the time. With Everton Stadium being purpose built for this, then inevitably it means more revenue for artists, promoters and venue owners. You imagine our new stadium would have to be at the top of promoters lists as the venue of choice. With regard to naming rights this stadium will go beyond advertisement in the relms of football. Lets how we don't sell them cheap or lock in to too long a deal. Naming rights is a massive deal financially and with a takeover potentially weeks away (and current owner all but out the door) - you would think a naming riights deal is fully aligned with 777.

Beto was bought as a well and truly needed back up to DCL (we where all crying out for this). Where the better options than Beto, most likley for those who could afford it, but I am guessing not at the 'buy now, pay later' terms that we somehow managed to get (and needed) - I am guessing those types of deals are hard to come buy, so you have to take the best you can under the circumstances we are in. DCL has stayed fit (but frustratingly not scoring), so Beto has only been needed in parts. To be fair to any player coming to a new league and country, you need time both at the club and on the pitch to get anywhere near your best - so its a bit unfair to say money has been wasted on him just yet.

We are bound to be a bit up and down results wise - given the nature of the squad and the lack of depth. I don't think any other manager would be getting either more consistent levels of performace or indeed much better results than he is doing. If Dyche was in charge of City and Pep was in charge of us on Saturday - that defeat would still be the most likely outcome. Given the current status of the club with regards to finances etc and what we can realistically do in the transfer market - treading water at best, I think Dyche is the perfect manager for us right now. His MO has never been paying big money to bring exciting tranfers to a club, its been about getting the best you can out of what you have got. He might be able to develop his team playing style with funds available to bring in better players, but we are not there as a club, so no point in worry if Dyche can take us to any sort of next level yet -the club can't supporting him (or any other manager in doing that yet). We need a season or two of being that solid, hard working team than nobody really wants to play, picking up enough points to keep you out of a season after season relegation fight. This is a tough league if you are not a top 6-8 club, very fine margin between being OK and having a bad run of form or tough run of games from falling in to a relegation fight.

I have read that the 'All' bar season packages will cost between £3k and £4k. Not sure how true that is, but that would work out between £170 and £210 based on 19 home games. If correct, probabley looking at 10% more on an individual game basis. As others have said clubs been crying out at ways to maximise revenue during a match day's and nobody is going to be obliged to utilise it and spend big. If you have a thousand or so paying around £200 for an added value experience per game, it all adds to the clubs revenue pot. With matchday capacity increasing by around 14,000 then there is plenty of room to use a decent percentage of these seats to maximise revenue from those who would be more than happy to pay. For decades our gorund has been behind the times when it comes to hospitaility revenue. Looks like we can be trailblazers with the new ground. A facility that has the potential to maximise revenue far beyond EFC home football games as well.

As frustrating as it is seeing him score whilst on loan, the more goal he gets the better - if we want to offload him for a permanent fee in the summer, we will at least get a few more quid for him as somebody who grabs a few goals.

Given the current squad - Gana is a very important player and is missed when he is not available. He has his flaws, but I really hope he is available for all the game up until the end of the season.

its disapointing we have not even managed to get a loan or two over the line given we have room for them. Seeing a player like Bretton Diaz loaned to Sheff Utd was a bit sickening. Already bagged a couple of goals. I guess we have enough cover up front at the moment - it's just they can't find the net.

Transfer market is very flat - our 10 points deduction and ourselfs and Forest also being hauled over the coals for the 22/23 season means all of a sudden the reality of scrutiny of clubs spending is properly hitting home. This will all have a signficant effect on the actual value of players. Clubs will be using the arguement that '..the PL make the rules up as they go all..and issuing excessive punishments' has itself effected the transfer market - you'll do well to get £35M for a £50M player at this moment in time, and it may run in to the next couple of transfer windows. Depending where you are as a club in a spending cycle, then this in itself could cause a few clubs short term FFP problems.

Not at all, but Forest can factually demonstrated that they got a signficantly bigger fee (30% more) on TDD to what they where turning down in June and will argue it. That become an indicator that a players sale value goes up close to the end of a window. As a fact based arguement we would be perfectly rigth to say we sold a player on the cheap before 31st June becasue we as a club felt we HAD to get a better balance sheet on that given day to satify a third party that is the PL and not becasue it was the best deal for us financially (and everybody knew we had to do a deal by than date). Its a fair argument to say the club lost out on revenue becasue of the effort they made in making their best attempt to meet PL rules with defined date parameters. What I am saying is Forest arguing this fact helps support Evertons arguement that they felt they where somehow forced in to selling him on the cheap due purely to an PL accounting dealline.

what is interesting is that one of the things forest are likely to say is that they hung on to transfer deadline day to sell Johnson for £47m rather have sell him in June for £35m (some made roughly 30% more by holding out to TDD) to ensure the sale came in the financial year needed. where as we did the very opposite, selling Richarlison in order to make sure we got sale done in June and thus in the most appropriate accounting year - Everton arguably missing out on 30% more fee just to try and adhere to PL rules. 30% more being roughly £19m!! ironically the amount we have been told we breach the rules by.
