  1. how his nationality has anything to do with his performance is beyond me, how a player can be judged after a few games in a different country is also beyond me

Such idiocy is embarrassing, yet I doubt you have the class to be embarrassed as you're exactly what you claimed to me. Please show me where I said his nationality had anything to do with his performance, then show me who judged him after a few performances? Such blind and wrongful hatred is astonishing yet typical, ridiculous especially as you're wrong on every count.

  2. So you're allowed to insult my intelligence and if I defend myself I'm pathetic  ?

What a strange world you live in.

Again how pathetic, showing your blinkered view on me again coupled with your alarming hypocrisy. What is truly ironic is your vain attempts to drag everything I say down into a cat fight, guess your milk gone sour old boy.

  3. Irony: "..use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.."

So it was your intent (through cunning use of irony) to suggest that either he isn't Dutch or that I should get excited  .

You really shouldn't go around attempting to use literary devices without first trying to get a basic grasp of what they mean.

"Bill Kenwright is CF's favourite person..." is irony.

"Duncan Ferguson was a prolific striker..." is irony.

    "He's Dutch, chill out..." isn't.

You're being rather pathetic to be honest.

  4. No....you, as always, completely fail to see my point.

I offer my opinion. I don't claim it to be fact.

You present your opinion as fact.

I'm not trying to shoot down your opinion, or anyones, just trying to make you understand the difference between opinion and fact.

And stop calling me lad....it's patronising in the extreme....but you know that already.

Ok......... Mike, I'll stop calling you lad. What is patronising is your claim that my opinion is fact from thin air, sorry but my opinion is based on fact. What is further insulting is saying that I do not know the difference between the two, so I think you should reflect and get over the obvious chips you have against me, or is that too opinionated?. Anyway, can you construct a reason why you disagree with my opinion?

  5. Okay lets remove Jagielka from the list. And give me your top 10's.

Its not pointless at all. It says in a way how you see our players.

*Rye smile* Ok, my rank of the best player's at the club:

    Arteta

Jagielka (regardless if him being injured)

    Pienaar

    Yakubu

    Saha

    Billy

    Baines

    Yobo

    Rodwell

    Howard

After them is much of a muchness.

  6. The (ongoing) problem I have with you CF is that again you present your opinion as fact. There's no room for debate in your world (which incidentally clearly makes you the zealot rather than the rest of us who are open to discussion whichever side we may be on).

Aren't YOU guilty of the same thing which you acclaim to me? Seems hypocrisy is the order of the day again for you lad, as you're not even presenting a logical/decent argument against what I have put forth, just trying to shoot me down because it's me. Not sporting, is it lad?

  7. I must admit, for the second time Pro Evo will stay in the shops as Fifa10 is the simulator I've been waiting for. Still rough around the edges, but crucially is far better online while the Pro Evo demo suggests Konami have abandon their loyal (including me) fanbase and have made their game too arcade like.

    Kudos EA!

  8. What concerns me a little bit is his attitude in interviews...just comes across not quite right for me...seems almost a bit bored with everything.

He's Dutch, so chill out man.

He's had one good game and two very poor games (it's worth noting that in those two games pretty much the whole side were poor though), so I'd say he's been OK but needs to improve a lot to live up to expectations.

I think he is adjusting to a new league and new life, so it's inevitable it will take him time to settle. I like him though he has no pace, and has been a top player for years now. His concentration is Yobo like at times, but like Jagelika (hopefully) will blossom. Funny as it's the same people attacking Johhny, who attacked Arteta, Yakubu and Saha when they first came. Some our of fans have patience towards Hibbert and Osman but not towards the better players of this club, interesting why that was/is?

Maybe some confuse endeavor with being a good player.

  9. There are valid arguments for both sides Mike. I understand the BK supporters, even if I don't agree with them, and I also understand the people who want BK gone because he's taken us as far as he can (because I'm one of them). I also think the questions put to BK about selling the club were very relevent and his response was a joke - looking for investment 24/7 and he comes up with nothing when other clubs are being bought 2 or 3 times? There's something wrong there Mike.

Agreed. Wasn't going to bother replying with some of the zealots bleating, but as some mature posts went up I'm inclined to agree. Whether I like him or not (which I don't), he is and always will be a Blue. But what I will never forgive is the lies, spin and blatant hanging on to power, despite some power puff articles to the contrary.

What i don't get is this. These forign owners come in to a club an spend a fortune on players but leave the club with massive debts. Like Chelsea an Man U, both in massive debt, yet there owners are billionaires. How does that work?

This makes me think, do i want this for Everton. Do i want a billionaire to come up, buy shed loads of players but put us in massive debt, expecially if we can't get in the top 4, There no guantee that we will get 4th, its more likely but still not 100%.

I think right now we have the best squad we've had in 20 years. We are just short on numbers. if a billionaire came in, how much would our team change? i don't think it would change an awful lot, we'd just have more squad players. An more debt.

Interesting question which nobody can answer until Billy actually allows an invest to come near the place. Part of the problem is that Billy doesn't want to sell in a economic time where rich investors are few and far between, while Billy also expects a party to invest and have no say on the club. It's a ridiculous situation, which several former board members resigned over. Granted though if the RIGHT investor comes and wants it all, Billy MUST sell, but will he?

I think even the zealots know the answer to that!

  10. Didn't see the game, but have to agree with Mike and Romeo that Cahill has been distinctly average this season. His goals mask the fact of how out-of-sorts he has been, which may have to do with he is required to play the ball in the middle, which he isn't the best at. But I'll always have him in the team for his goal threat.

  11. Truly is sad this is, but thanks for the warning Nogs. Let's hope other sites (yes, I'm looking at you Kipper/NSNO) will take appropriate action, and will NOT encourage them in anyway.

The BNP scum are targeting Muslims as they believe Muslims are an easy target, especially with the current media agenda against them. It's sad, but it's also the sign of an dark era which should never be allowed to loom forward.

  12. id rather he didnt tire himself out personally cos the way he plays he could manage 50 games a season and that could be quite handy really...let players like pienaar, cahill etc do the horse work

I agree. As for what Moyes said regarding Yakubu, Moyes retracted/denied comments to Yakubu for the exact same reason why I dismissed comments regarding Nigerians and their ages. Silly really anyone using that to justify an comment, but there's room for all here I guess.

  13. By the way whats a MOTH?

Man of the Match is was supposed to be, good spot.

I've seen this thrown around as a recurring comedic bit, but is there something I'm missing? Do people actually think Yak looks older than 26? What is he supposed to like like...I don't get it.

He is 26, end of. People who suggest otherwise are either comedians or generally are a bit thick. This all goes back to Roger Milla and Fini George who allegedly faked their birth certificates to play in Europe, these people conveniently forget the thousands of South Americans who fake entire passports to get into certain countries.

  14. What a incredibly silly thing to say from Moyes, goes up there with slagging Fernandes off after his MOTH against United whilst giving Neville a pat on the back. Yakubu is a goal scorer for goodness sake, which he is bloody good one at that! Moyes knew what he was investing in, so does he really think he can change him and still have him being effective, especially after a long injury and his age?

Moyes should keep it closed and concentrate on learning tactics other than being negative, and teach the players to keep the ball on the ground. A great manager would have a team placed to provide for the jewel in the attacking crown, not send him fishing for aimless punts to the wings.
