CraccerC
Apologies is this has been done before, I haa quick search and failed to find it if it has. I was just walking home from work, and for some reason i started to think what would my all-time favourite 11 be. not just everton either. Wondered what other people' were? I know some people are older and have seen more players than some of us younger members, so it would be interesting. best/favourite whatever, I seriously thought about Alan Smith, who many of you know I absolutely adore. So that just goes to show it doesn't have to be the best. Anyway heres mine ---------------------Southall------------------- Cafu --------- Baresi ----- Desailly------Maldini --------------------Makelele-------------------- rui costa------------Zidane---------------Rivaldo ----------------romario-----raul-----------------
Bill
I would just stick to the Brazilian squad of the 60s as the best footballing side i've ever seen.
CraccerC
when was garrincha around? the videos and stories ive seen of him are inspirational. i'd have him in my side easily, but i tried to keep it to players i've known/seen
jamiemaher85
Think that this would have been a pretty tasty line up:- Schmeichel Cafu Canavaro Stam Maldini Vierra Garrincha Zidane Cruyff Van Basten Zola
MikeO
I would just stick to the Brazilian squad of the 60s as the best footballing side i've ever seen. Peaking at Mexico in 1970 imo...the '66 World Cup passed me by sadly because I was only six, and the TV coverage back then was such that I didn't see them until the finals. Without any question the finest XI ever to play the game imo (although we gave them a hell of a game in the group match). Tostão was a personal fave. Gordon Banks was the best keeper I've ever seen, just shading Nev. Need to think about the rest, Bally and Peter Reid (captain)would be in it from Everton, and I'd have Terry Dyson on the left wing. I love watching footage of him play, he's incredible, especially considering he had problems with his legs, they were slightly deformed when he was born so bent in a strange way, but this meant he could turn on the ball with great speed. CraccerC
yeh thats why i liked him, they weren't sure if he'd be able to run. raul would be my captain by the way i loved zola, someone i found it hard to keep out was bergkamp
Bill
There are just too many names to think about that i couldnt possibly pick eleven and leave thousands out, it would be impossible for 2 people to come up with the same eleven. I notice nobody has selected PELE yet, and he was one of the worlds greatest ever.
