Eddie Johnson has gained strength and confidence over the past few seasons in MLS. He is quickly making a name for himself in the Dallas Burn offense and has established himself as a dangerous forward, improving his scoring run each season. He has been breaking records left and right with the US National Team and is a very promising young player.

National Team Highlights:

2004 - Made his first three appearances with the US Men's National Team, scoring goals in each of the World Cup Qualifying games. Netted a total of five goals in those three contests. Became first player to ever come on as a substitute and net a hat trick (October 13 vs. Panama in final 25 minutes of the game).

2004 - Has been called into camp with the US Men's National Team multiple times and, just like his lightening speed, is rising up the ranks of players.

Professional Highlights:

2004 - Became the youngest player in MLS history to either have or share the league lead in goals (12).Among league leaders, finished first in game-winning goals (7), tied for first in goals, tied for first in multi-goal matches (3), tied for second in shots (75), tied for fifth in points (27) and tied for sixth in shots on goal (32).

2003 - Played in 22 games in 2003, starting 13. Scored three goals on the year, including one game-winner.

2002 - Played in 11 games on the year, starting two. Scored the game-winning goal in overtime and registered his first MLS assist @ DC (9/19)

2001 - Saw action in ten games on the year after spending most of the season with the U.S. U-17 National Team in preparation for the FIFA World Youth Championships. Made his first professional start, playing 69 minutes @ NE (8/4). Scored his first professional goal, tallying the game-tying goal in injury time vs. NE (7/4)

Personal: Most memorable soccer moment was scoring his first MLS goal in stoppage time vs. New England on July 4, 2001, to send the game to overtime. Closest friends in the league are United's Santino Quaranta, Chicago's DaMarcus Beasley and San Jose's Landon Donovan. Listens to rap, hip-hop and rhythm and blues. Favorite musical artists are Master P and Jagged Edge. In addition to soccer, also played basketball and football while growing up. Ince asked Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter for an autograph. Favorite non-soccer team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Has one older sister and one younger brother

Data:

Height: 6'0"

Weight 180 lbs.

Born: March 31, 1984

Everton are reportedly eyeing USA international striker Eddie Johnson.

Toffees boss David Moyes is desperate to land a new forward in the summer, and the Kansas City Wizards frontman has emerged as a major target for the Merseysiders.

The 21-year-old Daytona Beach born star made history when becoming the first player to score a hat-trick after coming on as a sub in the win against Panama and has greatly impressed in the MLS.
