Now I hope and pray that he does not leave as we need the boy badly but if he did go how much would he be worth my gut feeling is around 9 mil but as we don't want to sell him that should push the price upto about 12- 13 mil any thoughts? To be honest i'm amazed there has been no interest before now. By the time Joey is 28 I expect him to be one of the top defenders in the world. RuffRob Posted March 20, 2006 Report Share Posted March 20, 2006 I would hate to see Joey leave the club - I also rate him as one of the top Premiership defenders and want him at our club for a long time. But if HE won't sign a new contract (don't know if there is any truth in that) - I would say we have to cash in on him this summer, if decent offers are made. If he was to go to the market, I think there would be plenty of clubs in for him in the summer. We have seen it all before with players at our club and other clubs, a bigger team shows an interest in a player - next thing you know your player has 12 months left on his contract and no intention of sigining another one.
