Pat Posted April 1, 2006 Report Share Posted April 1, 2006 As a wanna be Footballer I never wore shin pad's uno the late 70's early 80's socks around the ankles wild man look was the Pat style. However, after 1 game of school hockey & the pleasure of Bullying off...shin pads were simply a must. Them damned stix crush your shins & yes Mike can recall having the stik all set for a block...The ball hittng a Usually football made divot, shutting the eyes & hoping @ worst it would only hit one's self in the body.
