Meet Rachel, Our Face Of 2006

BUBBLY teenager Rachel Jones is our Face of the ECHO 2006.

 

The 18-year-old student was chosen from our shortlist of 10 as the overall winner of our competition.

 

Rachel's good looks and warm personality won over our panel of judges.

 

Now the teenager, a student at Holy Family Catholic high school in Thornton, is going to put her plans for her year out on hold as she takes up her prize of a modelling contract with city agency Pulse.

 

 

Rachel was hoping to work as an air hostess after she finished her A-levels this summer. didnt know she had that in mind

 

Rachel, of Brooke Road East, Waterloo, said: "I am thrilled to bits.

 

 

"I just really tried to be myself in the interview and I think that came across. I've been ringing all my aunties and they have been screaming down the phone.

 

 

"It is all a bit of a whirl at the moment but I'm hoping that a modelling career might come out of this for me." Sounds Like Rachel

 

 

Rachel is an only child and works part time as a cashier in the Waterloo branch of Kwik Save.

 

Her parents Peter, 49, a self-employed electrician and Debbie, 44, who works at the Alliance and Leicester in Bootle, are delighted with her win.

 

Face of the ECHO 2006 inspired an amazing response from our readers who voted in their thousands.

 

The end result was very close, with just a handful of votes between the finalists.

 

Rachel also won a professional photography shoot to start her portfolio and £500 worth of Epilight skin treatments.

 

Helen Whitehead, of Pulse model agency, said: "Rachel has lovely strong features with dark hair and dark eyes. She also has a great smile and good skin.

 

"She came across as really bubbly. Rachel is 5ft 8ins tall which is ideal for us getting work for her."

Ok why the hell have i posted this? She goes to The same place i do. and she got mentioned at Goodison on saturday cause shes an Everton fan OF COURSE (see also Fit Birds and Everton Fans; Jennifer Elison ) and as luck would have it i saw her in the family enclosure. anyway, To all those who are thinking "Could you give her my number" NO! Especially not you Mac and you Foz!!
