Still think we have a good chance of signing him. Until we get some new board members, we will always be amongst the Paupers of the Prem. If we dont improve the squad this time with decent players, i'm all for getting shut of the present board. We cannot become a top club with bottom of the range board members, How about Jordan from Palace or Whelan from Wigan moving here, They would invest some money, and kick some arse. Expected to talk about it on Friday aftr playing for England. Don't think there is any chance that he will join us as don't think that we will up our offer. What pisses me off is that 8.5m is not much more than we have already offered (7.25m). We know he'd rather come to us, so why is it a problem to increase our bid to match their's and guarantee being able to speak to the player. From next season every team in the premiership will be guaranteed at least 28m a year for 3 years under the new tv agreement reached with Sky and Sentana Sport. Jordan has already stated that Wigan can talk to him because their offer meets his evaluation. We know he wants to come to Everton, we match the offer of 8.5m, that should be enough, (apart from personal terms being sorted). Moyes is a fool for saying that he won't pay over the odds for a player because that will inevitably restrict his bargaining position. Anyway what was Koldrup all about then! Mistakes do happen but this guy played one game for us! I know I prattle on about this but the failure to get Bellamy was a good example of why Moyes is lacking in transfer acumen. Who else we going to get for the amount of money that will score that many goals. Not one to give into demands in money wise but we do need a striker that can score the goals.
