aaron
imo it has 2 be maradona's solo effort against england, the one where he picks up the ball in his own half, skims i dnt know how many before finishing. Roberto carlos's free kick agaisnt france i think, the one were it bends away from the wall swerves back towards goal and goes in. there my best, wat r urs? Lower Gwladys
The best goal ive seen is on tele is probably Reto Zielgler against Liverpool (what a goal that was). I suppose Gerrard's against Wet Spam was alrite as well. Best goal ive seen whilst at the match was probably Rooney v Arsenal. Those were the days. Also Big Dunc's v United

Mac
Frank Stapleton for Arsenal at Goodison can't remeber the year but f*ck me he was only just inside our half and when he cracked it, it more or less took a straight line to the goal. Beautiful. ATB Mac

sconnerefc
i suppose i have seen some better goals for the blues than barry hornes :- Shrek Vs Arsenal Big Dunc Vs Manure (Part I & II) The James Gang Vs Fulham but for the importance that game had for us and for us to come out to the second half trailing that goal will forever live in my memory and will give barry horne legend status at EFC. "Who needs cantona when we've got barry horne"

"Who needs cantona when we've got barry horne" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> EXACTLY, thats what makes a best ever goal, for me his everything surrounding it, not just that it was a crackin shot, its the importance of it. Like, dare I say it, Stevie G laars in the FA Cup
sconnerefc
that if i am honest is the best ever goal in the FA Cups long long history. The importance, the goal, the never say die spirit (only lives in scousers) and just as the bastard 4th offical announces there is 4 mins added time. Romey 1878
Did anyone see the possible goals of the season put forward by the BBC for people to vote on? Jimmy Macs and Beatties goals against Fulham werent on there but there was Lawrences goals against fulham when that was nowhere near as good as them too When were talking about important goals id have to say Cahill's against Sunderland this season in the last minute is one of the best this season, IMO it kick started our season and not the draw against Chelsea that the press suggest

Pat
So many, tuff 2 call...2 that remainn in the memory are Andy King's special V you no who & Andy Gray's Vertical header V's Notts county some yrs back. Also Clarence Seedorf I think it was scored an absolutely stunning long range goal for Real M I think a while back & it was something else. Shrek's V arsenalw as also a ripper as was the Van basten Volley mentioned earlier in thread. Then the Giggs cup goal V the Arse was also something else as far as an individual effort goes. Like I said 2 bloody many.......

Bluetrip
This is more 'best moment' but purely for significance and the fact I was there to see it, Horne V wimbledon and Farelly V Coventry that kept us in the top flight. After that Rideout V the Mancs for the Fa Cup in 95 after that donkey Stuart hit the bar from 2 yards. This is unrelated but the thread reminded me of it. rubecula
We have all seen great goals on tv. But to see them in the flesh is something else entirely. For me it is the ones that stick in the heart as well as in the memory that makes them great. OK These may not be everyone's favourites but they are mine whether you think they are 'Great' or not, to me they are always up there. Barry Horne (of course) Sharpies volley at Anfield. Andy King's winner at Goodison. Andy Gray's header off the floor. (Apparently he didn't mean it, but who cares) Sheedy's against Rapid Vienna. (I was so happy I could have handed the cigs out) Inchy's against Southampton which started the good times. Bob Latchford's 30th, not a great goal really but it was number 30. minde
1. Van Basten's bicycle kick. 2. Messi vs. some league team, when he dribbled like 5 players. 3. Zlatan in Ajax, dribbled also like 5 other players.

The entire stadium must have risen six feet off the ground with that atmosphere. Best game ever, never be another game like that one. I still get goosebumps about it. I was on a high for so long and I was singing all the way home in my head at least. Brilliant memory, thanks for bringing it up again.
