Been reading this site regularly and put in a post here and there but I figure it's about time I put up an intro in here.

 

As a kid growing up in the US, I never got into playing soccer (as its called here of course) and played baseball right up into college.

 

However, I have always been interested in watching and would regularly turn on Fox Soccer Channel regardless of who was playing. It was one day last year when I casually turned on the Everton v Middlesborough FA cup tie just as it was starting. Admittedly I watched the game rooting for Middlesborough as they were made to be the heavy underdog and their play in the beginning was excellent. Regardless, Fellaini with his big hair was the most notable player on the pitch, and of course he scored the equalizer for the blues. I even remember my younger brother and I labeling him a punk due to his physical play. Anyways, Everton won due to a Saha header and life went on.

 

A week or so later I was on a vacation for Philadelphia Phillies (Pro baseball) preseason spring training. We were eating lunch at a bar where there seemed to be soccer on every channel. Everton was playing again...This time Fellaini was sporting cornrows (much to my dismay) and I pleasantly discovered Tim Howard was the Everton keeper. Being a US fan, and already a member of the Fellaini cult, I was an Evertonian in the making. After watching the FA cup final (almost spilled my dinner when Saha scored), watching Howard dominate Spain in the Confed Cup, and the MLS all-star game...I was bleeding blue and couldn't wait for the season to start.

 

It did, and I was gutted watching the Arsenal game. My kindling spirit didn't die, and now I sit on my computer at college everyday reading Toffeetalk and Newsnow, waking up early on hangover Saturdays to watch Everton play on shitty online streams, and talking shit to my fraternity brothers while I refuse to switch teams in FIFA. My white Yobo #4 jersey is hung on the wall except for game days, and my girlfriend has accused my of mumbling about Everton in my sleep.

 

I dream of someday making it to a game at Goodison park, and am right now excited for the Wolves game in the morning even tho the links look to be pretty shitty.

 

Sorry if this got pretty long-winded, but I've been thinking about what I wanted to write in here for awhile. Goodnight to me, Good morning to everyone on here, be back when my alarm (Z-cars ringtone) goes off before kickoff.

Seems Fellaini has had a big affect on you, shame he got injured when he was just showing what he could really do.

Liverpool has an airport, the grounds not too far away......your closer than you think!

Quality intro Dweagle...good to hear stories like that . I was trying to explain to a Barcelona season ticket holder today how we are chosen....but language was a bit of a barrier .
